Mindwtr 1.2.0
Highlights
- Quick Add now previews recognized dates, projects, areas, contexts, tags, and parser warnings as you type on desktop and mobile.
- Data transfer is broader and safer: export Mindwtr CSV or TaskNotes ZIP files, import structured CSV data, and undo imports, restores, or merges from the result message.
- Sync and storage stay responsive and converge reliably on large libraries, slow network drives, rclone/WinFSP mounts, and Android storage providers.
- Recurring tasks can show every occurrence in the visible calendar, while timed-start work stays out of Focus and Next until its exact start time.
- Catppuccin Macchiato and Dracula join the theme picker, OLED reaches desktop, area filters can include or exclude several areas, and mobile lists can group by context.
- Platform fixes cover iOS stability and reminders, macOS quick capture, Windows certificates and older CPUs, Linux calendars and Wayland, plus Android private certificate authorities.
- AI suggestions are more deliberate and current: apply individual Copilot suggestions, discover provider models, and use newer OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and transcription models.
- Android 12+ can optionally expose task, project, and area titles to on-device system search; the setting is off by default and never indexes notes or attachments.

Capture, Inbox & Organization
- Quick Add previews recognized dates, project, area, contexts, tags, and parser warnings while you type on desktop and mobile.
- Calendar-slot capture, self-hosted API capture, and automation use the same parser, including multi-word people, contexts, and tags.
- Slash dates follow the selected date format, and date-only Start and Review commands no longer gain a midnight time unless a default schedule time is configured.
- Process Inbox saves a newly created project before the task that references it, avoiding a first-save foreign-key failure.
- The desktop guided clarify step offers AI clarification, and delegate requests now open a saved email address or copy the message.
- Waiting For tasks reveal the Person field automatically while editing.
- Project search can find projects outside the selected area while retaining nearby suggestions before typing.
- Desktop projects can display sections as reorderable columns, remembered per project.
- Sequential projects treat a leading Waiting For task as a blocker and no longer let a later dated task hide an earlier next action.
- Multi-area filters support included and excluded areas throughout desktop and mobile views.
Data Transfer, Storage & Sync
- Export tasks as Mindwtr CSV or as a TaskNotes-compatible ZIP of Markdown files with YAML frontmatter.
- Import structured Mindwtr CSV files or ZIPs without duplicating exported task IDs.
- Imports, restores, and merges offer one-step undo from their completion message.
- Data Transfer is split into compact Backup and Import folds that still open automatically from Settings search.
- Storage failures keep unsaved changes in memory and present a Retry action instead of failing silently.
- Mobile recovery applies the exact healthy database snapshot before writes resume and creates snapshots with atomic replacement.
- Sync destinations activate only after Mindwtr verifies data, writes, and live attachments; failed validation preserves the last known-good setup.
- Edits arriving during sync queue another pass, while stable deletion markers stop large libraries from rewriting thousands of rows and syncing continuously.
- Large mobile libraries no longer time out during the initial sync read, and post-edit sync detection moves off the interaction path.
- File Sync backup and lock handling now works reliably on rclone and WinFSP mounts, including atomic backup replacement.
- Android storage providers that omit or misreport write capabilities are tested by writing directly and retried when needed.
- WebDAV refuses HTTPS-to-HTTP redirects and requires explicit approval for public insecure HTTP addresses.
- Self-hosted saves use a database lock, attachment cleanup preserves items in Trash, and cleanup failures return an error status.
- Revoking a self-hosted token also revokes its published calendar feed.
Calendar, Recurrence & Reminders
- Recurring tasks can render every occurrence across the visible calendar while respecting spacing, COUNT, and UNTIL limits.
- Completing a repeating task late advances start, due, and review dates together so the next copy is not immediately overdue.
- Imported monthly weekday rules advance correctly, and unsupported OmniFocus recurrence text is preserved in task notes.
- Timed-start tasks remain hidden from Focus and Next until the exact time; date-only starts remain visible all day.
- All-day items stay pinned above the mobile Day view, and date-only starts display as All day instead of midnight.
- iOS recurring reminder cancellation no longer leaves duplicate notifications behind.
- Desktop Pomodoro sessions keep running after leaving Focus, and localized completion alerts now fire reliably.
- Scheduling controls use quieter summaries, and desktop quick panels save with Enter.
Search, Lists & Performance
- Search labels completed and due dates, opens Done and Archive results reliably, and moves desktop keyboard focus to the selected task.
- Desktop search includes assignee names, while MCP search accepts the app's operator language and actionable-view filtering.
- Grouped Contexts lists are collapsible and virtualized on desktop; mobile References, Inbox, Done, and Archive can group by context.
- Focus group headings share the same uppercase style as other grouped lists.
- Mobile updates only the changed task row across major lists, reducing large-library edit and completion lag.
- Mobile drag reordering no longer leaves rows suspended or overlapping, and identical imported ordering values remain stable after sync.
- Mobile project navigation returns to the project after capture, remembers Show completed, and exits capture cleanly after Save & edit.
- Mobile project references include project attachments and tag-matched reference material.
- Desktop stays responsive while snapshots, sync folders, search, settings, credentials, calendars, email, attachments, and Obsidian files perform slow I/O.
Desktop & Platform Integration
- macOS close-to-tray restores Dock, app-switcher, focus, and menu-bar presence while the window is visible.
- macOS global quick add uses a non-activating panel so the previous app retains focus.
- Windows sync again trusts the Windows certificate engine, including corporate roots, and WinFSP folder validation no longer relies on unsupported path queries.
- Local Windows transcription supports older processors without AVX2 and reports a clear error on CPUs without AVX.
- Flatpak system calendars avoid conflicting libraries, and Evolution Data Server stays loaded safely for the app lifetime.
- KDE Plasma starts with the correct system theme, Wayland titlebar buttons respond reliably, deb/rpm alt-tab icons are correct, and the tray icon survives temp cleanup.
- Update checks fall back from GitHub API rate limits to the public release feed.
- Folder attachments and calendar files on supported virtual drives open without false path-restriction errors.
- Desktop context menus visibly retain their target row, narrow checklist boxes remain square, and common actions gain consistent Undo feedback.
Mobile, Accessibility & Privacy
- iOS avoids a React Native view-removal abort while navigating or closing screens and no longer crashes when choosing a custom Focus defer date.
- Alerts raised over iOS modal screens now appear reliably.
- Android email sharing separates subject and body into task title and description.
- Android self-hosted sync trusts user-installed certificate authorities.
- Mobile credentials fall back to session memory—not ordinary app storage—when secure storage is unavailable.
- Image attachments can be shared from the mobile preview.
- Task rows announce localized Status and Due labels and direct screen-reader users to the accessibility actions menu.
- Android 12+ can opt in to on-device system search for titles and minimal task metadata; descriptions, notes, and attachments remain excluded.
- The About screen on desktop and mobile links directly to Mindwtr's privacy policy.
AI, Automation & Languages
- AI Copilot suggestions can be applied individually or all at once and no longer run background requests for every visible desktop row.
- Copilot suggestions reliably appear after editor re-renders, and Weekly Review rejects suggestions for items outside its review set.
- Provider model pickers can discover current models from configured services, with built-in suggestions as fallback.
- OpenAI GPT-5.6, Claude Opus 5,
gpt-transcribe, current Gemini models, LM Studio JSON Schema retrying, and current Gemini thinking parameters are supported. - MCP tools gain shared search operators and actionable filtering; CLI search output is no longer capped at 200 matches.
- Swedish is complete, unfinished languages are marked Partly translated, and untranslated text now falls back cleanly to English.
- Dutch notifications, German Inbox labels, Brazilian Portuguese dates, and the Russian No area label are corrected.
- Catppuccin Macchiato and Dracula join desktop and mobile; OLED reaches desktop; Nord uses matching context and calendar colors.
