• Bundle slim-down completes: 18 more widgets moved to the community catalog, 7 new bundles. The default install now ships ~30 universally-useful widgets instead of ~65. All moved widgets are installable in one click from Settings → Widgets → Browse community widgets.

  Why: completes the slim-down started in 0.38.0 (F1), 0.39.0 (Spotify), 0.40.0 (GitHub). The remaining ~30 bundled widgets are what a new user can compose a useful dashboard from immediately with zero accounts or niche knowledge: clocks, weather, calendar, todo, RSS / Hacker News / Wikipedia news, picture_gallery, webpage, and the Home Assistant family.

  Also in this release:

  • Browse card screenshots now ship for every official bundle.
  • 4 dead _sky_moon / _weather_pollen_count / _glances_status / _octoprint_status sample functions stripped from app/widget_samples.py.
  • docs/widgets/tiers.md marks moved entries as (marketplace).
  • Archetype examples in widget-authoring docs swapped to still-bundled widgets.
