What's changed
This is a bugfix release addressing a lot of usability and functional issues.
- Alt-h now shows directory history
- Alt-i switches the inactive panel to the same directory as the current one
- Alt-o switches the inactive panel to the current directory under the cursor, then moves the cursor in the active panel down one step
These changes bring Rat Commander more in line with Midnight Commander.
- File viewer now uses the full search dialog
- "Find all" function added (permanently highlights lines with found search term)
- File transfer speeds are now recorded for background operations too, and restored when put to the foreground again
- Search regex handling fixed
- File selections and cursor position in panels were reset when doing operations on the other panel - fixed.
- File uploads on remote systems are now properly finalized upon saving in the file editor
- When a copy operation fails to read or finalize, it is now cleaned up properly
- Remote write failures are now shown instead of being swallowed
- The .rc-tmp file is now removed when an archive edit fails to write or swap
- Scratch temp files are now cleaned up
- Hanging git operations and file sync operations can now be cancelled with the ESC key
- Non-UTF8 paths and filenames are now refused instead of failing silently in funky ways
- Panel layout and settings are now persisted across program runs
- File viewer now gets a working F1 help
- Program now falls back to $VISUAL/$EDITOR and $PAGER when no external editor or viewer is configured
- Localized mount, network and disk explorer footer text
- Error dialogs improved (framing, capitalization)
- Cleanup and refactoring
