Lumora v7.0
EPG
- Adding an EPG source now actually opens the form, and a blank URL no longer looks like a no-op. The Add button used to dismiss the dialog even when the URL was empty, leaving only a transient toast; it now keeps the form open and puts the cursor back in the URL field. The URL keyboard is explicitly a text field with the URI variation (some TV keyboards opened in a mode that accepted nothing), and the source list closes before the add form opens instead of stacking dialogs that could land underneath each other on Fire OS.
- EPG sources can be added from a phone by QR code. The Add EPG Source dialog now has Add via QR code: the TV shows a QR, the phone opens a small form over the LAN, and the submitted XMLTV name/URL is saved and downloaded on the TV. No URL typing on the remote, and the same QR server/lifetime rules as provider pairing.
Catalogue
- The Films/Series cache now actually loads in release builds. The screen snapshot was written to disk and then immediately discarded with a Gson
ClassCastException, because R8 renamed the model fields between builds. Every cold start rebuilt both tabs (measured at 61s, 32s and 31s on a TV stick) even when the catalogue had not changed. The snapshot models are now kept by name, the file moved to a v2 format, and the cache key uses the persisted anime-catalogue identity instead of the in-memory anime list that is empty until the provider load finishes. A verified cold start restored 690 KB in 1.3s and finishedvod content(cache)in 3.5s with no rebuild. The version-code invalidation was removed, so a snapshot also survives future app updates; bumpVodContentStore.FORMATwhen the model itself changes. - The rebuilt Films/Series cache is used immediately, not only at the next launch. When a fresh VOD build finishes while Films or Series is on screen, the sidebar and the selected category filter are re-applied against the new rows. Previously only the shelf adapters updated, so a viewer inside a category grid kept the old cache until a tab switch or a restart.
- The D-pad no longer goes dead after a provider import finishes. The importing card takes focus on its Hide button when it appears; when the load completed, the card was hidden without handing that focus back, so the window had no focused view and every remote key was ignored until the app was restarted. The card now hands the ring back to Home (or the current tab) as it goes, and a Home shelf rebuild that removes the focused poster re-claims the first shelf instead of leaving nothing selected.
Player
- The Importing card no longer floats over the picture. The card is a browse-screen narration, but it sat in the root layout above the player, so a catalogue load that was still running stayed on screen for the whole episode or film. It now steps aside for fullscreen playback and multiview, and comes back when the player closes if its load is still going - without pulling focus off the screen the player returned to.
- Skip Credits and Up Next are one pill again, and it says what it will do. When an end-credits marker is present the pill appears as Play Next Episode if the queue has one, otherwise Skip Credits; when an episode has no credits marker at all, Play Next Episode still appears in the last 15 seconds, and a film or series finale gets Skip Credits at the actual end. Pressing it (or letting its countdown expire) seeks past the credits, saves the watched mark, then starts the next episode or returns to the film/series poster. The pill is now transparent, including Skip Intro/Recap/Preview and credits at the start of an episode.
- Credits with no marker are detected from the picture. Near the end of a title (the final 8 minutes, or a quarter of a shorter runtime) the player samples its own surface and runs bundled, offline OCR. Four or more stacked text lines spread down the frame (or five in a tight block), confirmed across two samples, raise the same end pill; one title card or a two-line subtitle does not. Text detection is only an offer - a film's mid/post-credits scenes are never skipped automatically. Marvel-style films stay on the manual pill through every credit block and scene, and only start the 30-second return countdown once the film has actually ended. Episode markers keep their existing 30-second countdown. Requires Android 8+ for SurfaceView capture; older devices keep the end-of-playback offer.
- The Skip pill keeps its outline. Its background is transparent so it reads as text over the picture, but the accent border is back so it does not disappear on bright scenes.
