New
- Disconnect and reconnect physical displays right from the menu, similar to BetterDisplay. Apple Silicon only (macOS 13+). Crisp remembers what you disconnected and re-applies it across sleep/wake, and it will never black out your last active screen. Thanks to @caicaiks for contributing this feature.
- Virtual displays: iPad aspect ratios, a native-resolution default, and custom sizes.
- Display arrangement: drag to set the main display, overlap-free set-as-main, and live refresh as you rearrange.
- Presets: pick exactly which settings a preset captures, and edit them afterward.
- Simplified Chinese (简体中文): Crisp is now fully translated, section headers included, and follows your macOS language. Thanks to @xiangfeidexiaohuo for the translation.
Improved
- The menu panel now closely mirrors the native macOS Control Center Displays panel: matched width, refined effect tiles (Dark Mode, Night Shift, True Tone) with custom-drawn glyphs, and tuned typography.
- The expanded display section now sits on a clearly delineated background in both light and dark mode, with tightened, consistent indentation.
- Crisp is free and every feature stays free. A Support link now expands to let you pick Ko-fi or 爱发电 (Afdian), whichever checkout works for you, if you'd like to say thanks. Completely optional.
- Brightness sun step buttons highlight only while held.
- Panel sections collapse when the panel closes.
- Tapping the already-active preset no longer re-applies it.
- The Display Mode resolution and refresh-rate menus are aligned.
Fixed
- Crisp now notices a new release while it's running, so you no longer have to restart it to see that an update is available. (Respects the "Check for Updates at Launch" toggle.)
- Disconnect Display is no longer offered when the only other screen is a virtual display, which would otherwise have blacked out your Mac.
- Virtual display resolutions no longer show a locale digit-grouping space (e.g. "1 920" is now "1920").
- HiDPI mode switching that reported the wrong state at non-max HiDPI resolutions.
- The panel now stays open through the administrator authentication prompt.
- The shown resolution updates immediately after a preset is applied.
Other
- Crisp is now under the plain MIT license.
