8.9.0 — 2026-09-17

Semver rationale: minor — adds four Korean rewrite patterns, an English cadence pattern, a CLI meaning-safety overlay extension, two advisory notes, and a rewrite-prompt hint. No public surface is removed. Two advisory notes can newly print warnings on rewrites that previously stayed silent; neither changes exit codes or emitted text.

  • Four Korean rewrite patterns (#910, from #880): 38 문두 접속사 남발 (anchor-free connective run), 39 쉼표 병렬 나열·감탄 (parallel-inflection comma chains; noun and unit lists stay safe), 40 상담원 서비스 톤 (service-marker stack over anchor-free text; real customer-service replies stay protected), and 41 잔여 직역 커플링 (genitive-chain anchored coupling of weak translated constructions; formal register stays safe). Each cleared a 50-document labeled fixture at precision 1.00 with zero boundary false positives before promotion (evidence: npm run benchmark:ko-conjunction, benchmark:ko-comma-excess, benchmark:ko-agent-tone, benchmark:ko-residual-translationese).
  • English rewrite pattern 38: 2026 Cadence Stack (#898, from #879): promotes the measured cadence tell to the EN catalog.
  • Numeric-claim overlay enforced in preview (#901, follow-up to #870): the CLI's assessRewriteMeaningSafety overlay consolidates the dropped-numbers and numeric-claim-changed guards, and preview candidates (including compare variants) now exit 4 on a changed numeric claim while still rendering the page. Role-swapped claim bags remain out of scope; a calibration round (#906) measured four binding variants on a 50-pair corpus and concluded local binding cannot separate swaps from faithful reorders at high precision, recorded in docs/research/2026-number-swap-calibration.md.
  • Overcorrection advisory gains the cadence-stack signal (#911, #882): a rewrite that mints a NEW 2026 cadence stack the source never had now warns, alongside dash-wipe and introduced-slang. Advisory only — exit codes, scores, and text are unchanged.
  • Rewrite hint restores the source's own specificity (#912, #881): when the source prose is mostly portable (point-of-view-less) but the document still carries its own anchors, the rewrite brief adds one line telling the model to pull generic sentences back onto that specificity and never to invent a fact. Fully anchor-free documents get no hint.
  • skills.sh one-line install (#913): npx skills add devswha/patina is verified end-to-end and documented (INSTALLATION.md Path 0.5); the skills.sh directory indexes entries automatically from install telemetry.
  • Devtools: adopt eslint 10 (#904), actions/setup-node 7 (#899), hold @eslint/js majors until the core migration (#903).
