What's changed
- Paging deep into a large CSV no longer recounts the file on every page: after the first jump, a page reads only its own rows
- Tables of long text, such as articles, logs or JSON, move a row as fast as tables of numbers: a cell reads only what it can show of its value, and a scroll formats only the rows it brings in
- Filtering the home screen in a directory of thousands of files takes a fifteenth of the CPU it did, and the files on screen are measured first
- Past the bottom of the page, a row down moves one row again, not two
- Scrolling the table moves its lines within the terminal and draws only what changed, about an eighteenth of the bytes per row, so scrolling over SSH and in tmux is much lighter;
