REST MODE CURRENTLY WORKS ONLY ON INTERNAL STORAGE, NOT USB. USB SUPPORT IS IN PROGRESS. Keep the console awake for USB downloads and unpacking.
Changes
- A part whose link expired no longer fails the whole download. When you solve the CAPTCHA for a game split into parts, the PS5 browser captures every part's link at the start, and a host's link can expire before its part's turn comes. Until now the download kept retrying that dead link for about two and a half minutes and then failed (for example with HTTP 401), or failed at once when the host answered with a CAPTCHA page instead of the file. Solving it again went through every part and started over from part 1.
- The download waits on that part and tells you. It pauses as soon as the host refuses the part's link, without retrying it, and the PS5 shows a notification: "PS5 Library: ‹game› needs the CAPTCHA again for part N". The download card says which part stopped working.
- Solve CAPTCHA reopens only the part that failed. The paused download shows Solve CAPTCHA for part N. On the console, the PS5 browser opens only that part's hosting page (Part 2 of 10); on a phone or computer you paste only that part's link.
- The same download continues. The new link replaces only that part's link: the parts already downloaded are kept, part 1 is not downloaded again, and the download carries on from where it stopped. A single-file download works the same way (Solve CAPTCHA for the download).
Refs #20.
Validation
All 67 integration checks, 15 UI checks (one new for this change), the 14 archive checks and the 4 browser checks passed. A new test runs a split game against a local test host whose part 2 link expires halfway through part 1, once with HTTP 401 and once with a CAPTCHA page: the download pauses at once with no retry loop, waits on part 2 only, refuses a wrong part or a page address as the new link, and a new link for part 2 alone continues the same download with part 1 downloaded once (30 checks). The relink bundle builds a payload byte-identical to ps5-library.elf.
Before publishing, a PS5 on firmware 13.60 ran the same code (it differs from this release only by its version number): a two-part test title from a test host on the local network was solved in the PS5 browser, and part 2's link expired while part 1 downloaded, once with HTTP 401 and once with a CAPTCHA page. Both times the download paused about a second after part 1 finished, after two requests to the dead link; Solve CAPTCHA for part 2 opened only part 2's page in the PS5 browser; the same download continued, part 1 was downloaded once, and both parts on the console matched the originals byte for byte (37 of 37 checks). After publishing, that PS5 updated to 0.7.38 through Settings → Updates in 10 seconds; both payload copies read back over FTP match the release SHA-256, and the download queue was unchanged.
Third-party notices
This release uses 7-Zip 26.04 by Igor Pavlov, including its RAR decoder. The applicable LGPL notices and unRAR restriction, the corresponding decoder sources with local changes, and application objects and instructions for relinking are in ps5-library-0.7.38-archive-relink.tar.gz. The payload built from that bundle is byte-identical to ps5-library.elf. This supplementary asset is for developers; it is not needed to install or update the payload.
Load ps5-library.elf or update through Settings → Updates. Your catalogs, accounts and settings are kept. A download in progress pauses; Resume continues it.
