Note
REST MODE CURRENTLY WORKS ONLY ON INTERNAL STORAGE, NOT USB. USB SUPPORT IS IN PROGRESS. Keep the console awake for USB downloads and unpacking.
Changes
- New default catalog: homebrew.page. The PS5 Homebrew Catalog by darkxex, the list behind homebrew.page, is on from the start as PS5 Homebrew (homebrew.page): about 90 homebrew apps, games and tools, each from its author's GitHub release. evoX-CoreOS, the old default, is removed once with its entries when you update; a catalog you add yourself afterwards stays.
- Downloads checked against the catalog's SHA-256. When a catalog lists a file's SHA-256, the downloaded file is checked against it. A file that does not match is deleted, and the download says so. homebrew.page lists one for every app, and your own catalogs can add
"sha256"to a file. - Homebrew keeps its own name. Many homebrew apps use title IDs that also belong to Store games. They no longer show that game's name, cover or publisher.
- Apps installed to the internal SSD start. Folders unpacked to the internal SSD were saved without permission to run, so an app installed there was added to the home screen but did not start. USB drives don't store permissions, which is why the same app worked from USB. Installed folders are now made runnable, and on every start the library repairs game folders installed before, on the internal SSD and on USB.
- A game split into parts is one download. Pegasus catalogs such as DLPS list each part of a game as its own link, and the library offered every part as a separate mirror: a download held a single part, and links past the 20th were left out. Now the parts on one host are one mirror labelled · N parts; they download one after another and unpack together. Every catalog is read again once after the update so the change applies.
Validation
All 67 integration checks passed, including a homebrew.page catalog (an app with a matching SHA-256 downloaded, one with a wrong SHA-256 deleted and failed, an announced app without a file left out, no Store name for a homebrew title ID), the old default catalog leaving an existing install once while one added back by hand stays, installed folders made runnable and an old one repaired, and a split game listed part by part and out of order becoming one mirror with every part, downloaded as one job. All 14 UI checks, the archive checks and the browser checks passed. The relink bundle builds a payload byte-identical to ps5-library.elf.
Before publishing, a PS5 on firmware 13.60 ran the same code as 0.7.37-dev: two apps from homebrew.page downloaded, passed the SHA-256 check, installed to USB and started; evoX-CoreOS was gone and the other catalogs stayed; on start the library made an existing game folder on the internal SSD runnable (103 files and folders); and Ace Combat 8 from DLPS showed three hosts with 10 parts each instead of one mirror per part. Starting the repaired apps from the internal SSD was not confirmed before publishing. After publishing, that PS5 updated to 0.7.37 through Settings → Updates in 13 seconds; both payload copies read back over FTP match the release SHA-256, and the download queue was unchanged.
Third-party notices
This release uses 7-Zip 26.04 by Igor Pavlov, including its RAR decoder. The applicable LGPL notices and unRAR restriction, the corresponding decoder sources with local changes, and application objects and instructions for relinking are in ps5-library-0.7.37-archive-relink.tar.gz. The payload built from that bundle is byte-identical to ps5-library.elf. This supplementary asset is for developers; it is not needed to install or update the payload.
Load ps5-library.elf or update through Settings → Updates. Your catalogs, accounts and settings are kept. A download in progress pauses; Resume continues it.
Thanks to ogrody and gradwahl for reporting the split downloads on Discord, and to everyone who reported apps not starting from the internal SSD.
