PS5 Library 0.7.33

Note

REST MODE CURRENTLY WORKS ONLY ON INTERNAL STORAGE, NOT USB. USB SUPPORT IS IN PROGRESS. Keep the console awake for USB downloads and unpacking.

Changes

  • Password-protected RAR, 7z and ZIP archives now unpack on the PS5. This includes RAR4/RAR5, encrypted file names, solid archives, split RAR/7z sets and AES-encrypted ZIP files. Previously, the console's archive library rejected encrypted RAR/7z and AES ZIP even when the correct password was available.
  • pippo is tried automatically. The library tries the password supplied by the catalog, then its saved default passwords (pippo by default). This works for both game downloads and Unpack here in Files.
  • Wrong password? Enter another one without downloading again. The failed download shows Enter password. Enter the archive's password and select Unpack; the library retries extraction using the files already on the drive. Another wrong password leaves the same option available.
  • An unpacking error no longer sends you back to TorBox. Advice to try the host instead now applies to download failures, not failures while unpacking a file that has already downloaded. Password errors stay on the Unpack step.

Validation and limitations

All 62 integration checks, 14 UI checks, the archive checks and browser checks passed. Tests cover default and custom passwords, invalid password input, cancellation, path traversal and links in archives, and keeping the downloaded archive unchanged during retries.

On a PS5 with firmware 13.60, 13 archive cases passed on internal storage: encrypted RAR4/RAR5 and 7z, encrypted headers, split volumes, AES ZIP, wrong-password retries and rejection of links. Every extracted test file and the retained source archives were checked with SHA-256. Test files and jobs were removed afterward.

Encrypted extraction in Rest Mode, other firmware versions and large real-game archives have not been verified in this test run. The existing fast parallel path for supported unencrypted 7z archives remains in place; the new encrypted-archive decoder uses one decoding thread.

Third-party notices

This release uses 7-Zip 26.04 by Igor Pavlov, including its RAR decoder. The applicable LGPL notices and unRAR restriction, the corresponding decoder sources with local changes, and application objects and instructions for relinking are in ps5-library-0.7.33-archive-relink.tar.gz. This supplementary asset is for developers; it is not needed to install or update the payload.

Load ps5-library.elf or update through Settings → Updates. Your catalogs and settings are kept. A download in progress pauses; Resume continues it.
