PS5 Library 0.7.29

Warning

REST MODE CURRENTLY WORKS ONLY ON INTERNAL STORAGE, NOT USB. USB SUPPORT IS IN PROGRESS. Keep the console awake for USB downloads and unpacking, even with USB power set to Always.

Changes

  • Download and unpack in Rest Mode on internal storage. The library keeps the console working while a download or archive extraction runs. Once the work finishes, the console can go to sleep. Settings → Downloads → Rest Mode controls this and is on by default. Enable Stay Connected to the Internet in the PS5's Rest Mode settings and select internal storage; local archives and their output must both be on internal storage.
  • Stay active until the work finishes. The library alternates two standby requests so renewing one does not leave the console without a valid request. The tested download continued beyond the earlier premature-sleep limit, then the console slept after completion. Requests stop when there is no active work.
  • Install after waking. An unpacked game waits for the console to wake and ShadowMountPlus to become available before it is added to the library. Downloads shows that waiting state and whether the console is working in Rest Mode. Diagnostics includes the power state and standby requests.
  • USB limitation shown in Settings. USB can disconnect during Rest Mode even with USB power set to Always. Automatic recovery can then run before the drive reconnects and fail with local source does not exist. Keep the console awake for USB work; if this has already happened, wait until the drive appears in Files, then retry manually. USB recovery is still in progress.

Validation and limitations

Host and PS5 builds, 60 integration checks, Debug C++ browser and archive checks, and 12 UI checks passed for the functional candidate. On firmware 13.60, a 5 GiB test download continued uninterrupted for 26 minutes 31 seconds in Rest Mode, with no API or FTP outage during the transfer. After completion the console entered deep sleep; after waking, the same library instance answered without reloading the payload. The file's size and eight 1 MiB sample hashes matched. A separate internal-storage test unpacked 6,005 files (353,217,639 bytes) in 33 seconds entirely in Rest Mode; file count, total size and eight selected full-file hashes matched after waking. These were sampled integrity checks, not hashes of every byte of both tests.

USB unpacking failed when the drive disconnected, despite USB power being set to Always. Manual retry after waking and reconnecting completed the archive. USB Rest Mode support is not ready. Overnight operation, other firmware and a real game's installation handoff after waking have not been verified on hardware; host tests cover waiting for wake before installation.

After publishing, the final PS5 build and all 12 UI checks passed again. Settings → Updates installed 0.7.29 from GitHub on the test console in 7 seconds; both saved ELF copies matched the published SHA-256, and the running UI showed the internal-storage-only warning.

Load the new ELF; it replaces the running version and keeps your catalogs and settings. A download in progress pauses; Resume continues it.
