PearSilicon 0.2.0
Improvements
- Installed apps launch reliably: broken chained fixups are repaired, unavailable
PHAssetimports are weakened, a local MarketplaceKit stub is installed, and StoreKit now reports an empty catalog instead of an error that made storefronts retry forever. - Files created with mode
000or under an unusable umask are repaired at the libc layer, so apps can read their own data again (fixes Terraria world creation and SoulKnight's update loop). UIScreenfollows the app window, legacy GL viewports fill the drawable, and zero-size Metal descriptors are clamped. Fixes transposed or corner-sized rendering in Stardew Valley, Dr Driving, Human: Fall Flat and others.- iMovie launches with its missing symbols resolved, and the orientation notification is only posted to apps that actually read the deprecated
interfaceOrientationAPI, avoiding navigation-bar layout loops. - GarageBand now reaches its welcome screen and starts its audio engine:
os_proc_available_memory()returns the real host value, phone-only assets load from iPhone-thinned bundles, and the session's preferred I/O buffer is applied to the audio device. - The launcher no longer leaves "Launching: …" in the status bar when an app dies during startup; it reports that the app exited instead.
- Additional stability fixes for Running Fred's ad SDK, RCT Touch's storefront, and the device/screen/metal shims.
Notes
- Existing app data is preserved.
- GarageBand Live Loops playback should still be validated on each machine; the downloadable sound library remains optional.
- iCloud and Apple sign-in are not available. Purchases, attestations, biometric success and health data are never simulated.
- Some apps still require On-Demand Resources or DRM services that cannot be produced locally.
