development
This is the development beta: the newest reviewed build from the
development branch, published for testing before it becomes a stable v0.x
release. This top section is fixed and stays the same across updates.
- Branch:
development— continuously updated, not a stable release. - Install: download
PearSilicon.zip, unzip it, dragPearSilicon.appinto/Applications. - Requires: macOS 26 or later on Apple silicon (arm64).
- Community: Discord — questions, help and compatibility reports.
- Behavior and APIs may change between development updates. Stable builds are the
v0.xreleases.
How updates work: this release is refreshed in place — the section below is rewritten
each time with the newest tested version, while the development section above stays fixed.

What is in this build
- Drag & drop install: dropping an
.ipaor.appon the window installs it. - Relocatable storage: apps, game data, keymaps, ODR packs, keychain entries and
logs live in one folder that can be moved to another disk
(Settings → Storage location, orpearsilicon storage move <folder>). - Proton-style host service: local key-value state and the static device profile
are owned by a separate host process; the game keeps only the in-process API hooks. - Launch fix:
-ApplePersistenceIgnoreStateand-NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindowsare no
longer passed at launch — each one made several iOS apps, including Candy Crush Soda,
quit during startup. - Stop fix:
stopreports accurately and escalates for games that ignore termination.
Known limitations
- The full compatibility runtime is still loaded into the game process. This is not
kernel-level iOS emulation and not a security sandbox for hostile games. - Wreckfest can take a while to shut down;
stopnow waits and escalates to a kill. - Storage relocation is verified with tests and a real install/uninstall round-trip;
an actual move of this machine's live data to an external disk was not performed.
