👥 Live collaboration (beta)
Click Share in the editor, send the desigma://join/… link, and edit the same file together, live, across Windows, macOS and Linux. No account, no server: your desigma hosts the session while the file is open.
- Peer-to-peer and encrypted (iroh QUIC with NAT traversal; public relays as a fallback).
- Edits merge per property; inserts into the same frame both survive; a delete wins over an edit; drags show live.
- Your undo only undoes your own edits.
- Cursors, selections and avatars in each person's colour; click an avatar to Follow.
- Optional password, approval of each joiner, edit or view-only access, kick, stop sharing.
- Join from the home screen (Join session) or by opening a
desigma://link (registered by the Windows installer and on Linux; on macOS paste the link).
Known limits: the session ends when the host closes the file (guests can save a copy); fonts are not sent yet; no reconnect after a dropped connection yet. Design: docs/collaboration.md.
Installing
Download the file for your platform below. These builds are not code-signed yet, so the first launch shows a warning:
- macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel): download
desigma-<version>-macos.dmg, open it and drag desigma to Applications. The first time, open it from Applications, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Or runxattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/desigma.app. - Windows (recommended): run
desigma-<version>-x86_64-windows-setup.exe. It installs for your user without an admin prompt, adds a Start Menu entry and can associate.desigmafiles. In the SmartScreen dialog, click More info → Run anyway. - Windows (portable): unzip
desigma-<version>-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc.zipand rundesigma.exe; same SmartScreen steps. - Linux: unpack
desigma-<version>-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu.tar.gz, then run./install.sh(no sudo) or just./desigma.
