Reitti v5.2.1 Release Notes
Hey everyone, Daniel here! 👋
Following our big v5.2.0 release, here is a quick patch update (v5.2.1) to iron out a couple of little quirks that popped up right after launch. Thank you to everyone who tested the new features and reported issues so quickly!
🛠️ What Got Fixed
1. Coverage Page Behind Subpaths & Reverse Proxies
If you host Reitti under a custom sub-directory/subpath (for example, your-domain.com/reitti), you might have noticed that the new Coverage dashboard had trouble loading its maps and scripts.
- We fixed the path handling so all scripts, API calls, and custom avatars load smoothly regardless of your URL setup.
2. GPSLogger Auto-Configuration Fix
A tiny rogue character (=) sneaked into the generated gpslogger.properties file during auto-configuration, which caused GPSLogger to send data in a format (octet-stream) that Reitti didn't recognize.
- This is now resolved, and one-click auto-configuration for GPSLogger will upload your daily tracks without any hiccups.
🍺 Trivia: Reitti is also a Beer?!
While doing some routine Googling for the project recently, I stumbled across a fun surprise: there is actually a Finnish session IPA called Reitti!
I haven't had the chance to taste it yet, but finding your open-source project shares a name with a beer definitely made my day. Cheers to that! 🍻
Help Spread the Word!
As always, my passion is staying in the code cave and making Reitti better for everyone rather than doing social media marketing. If you enjoy using Reitti, the best way you can support the project is by mentioning it to friends or in self-hosted communities looking for GPS tracking and location sharing!
