Touchpad and Select
- The touchpad is now each pad's own Select: on players 2, 3 and 4 it no longer counts as player 1's. Pads 3 and 4 (multitap) are covered too.
- Holding the touchpad now holds Select for as long as you press it, instead of only a short tap. Select is sent right away and is cut if you use a touchpad shortcut.
- The analog mode combo (touchpad + two shoulder buttons) works on every pad, using that pad's own shoulders.
Shortcuts and menu
- Touchpad shortcuts (R2 fast forward, L2 rewind, Square screenshot, Triangle / Circle timer, R1 next disc) are now player 1's only. On the other pads the touchpad is just that pad's Select.
- The game menu now opens by holding player 1's touchpad for 1 second, instead of L3 + R3. Using a shortcut with the touchpad does not open it.
- The notice shown when a game starts explains the new menu gesture in all five languages and stays on screen for 8 seconds.
