DualSense triggers
- "Trigger effects" is now a selector: Off, Automatic, Click, Light click, Firm and Buzz.
- Automatic gives a light-gun trigger click, and a gas-pedal / brake feel in racing games, but only when the NeGcon or the R2/L2 swap is on. In any other game the triggers stay normal.
- The other options give L2 and R2 that same feel in every game.
- Each trigger is now sent to the controller separately, and a refused effect no longer leaves a trigger stuck. The log says which effect the console refused.
Controls
- "Swap R2 / L2 with Cross / Square" (formerly "Gas and brake on R2 / L2") now swaps in both directions and works in every game, not just a list of racing titles. It is off by default.
- "NeGcon in compatible games" is off by default. It is decided only by DuckStation's game database.
- Controller type, NeGcon, Touchpad as a mouse and Light gun now apply immediately, without starting a new game.
- The controller type is chosen before the game boots, so a NeGcon, mouse or light gun is recognised from the start.
- Holding the touchpad and pressing two shoulder buttons sends Select to the game, so the analog mode combo L1 + R1 + Select works.
Light bar
- New "Analog mode" option, now the default: red in analog mode, off in digital. It works even with OSD messages off.
- The lights set by the app (player colours, cover colour, analog mode) are off whenever you are not in a game.
Interface
- Button names in settings descriptions and notices are now drawn as the pad's own symbols (Cross, Circle, Square, Triangle, L1/R1/L2/R2/L3/R3, Options, Touchpad) in all five languages.
- The symbols fade out together with the notice's text.
- Notices can have two lines.
- The notice shown when a game starts now also tells you the combo for the ANALOG button, the one chosen in the core's options, on a DualShock.
- Core OSD messages remain off by default. The core still sends them internally, but they are only shown if you turn them on.
