github danrspencer/flare v2.1.0-beta.4

Added

  • Conditions, a new blueprint setting, as in an ordinary automation: all must be met for the room to run. While they aren't, the room is paused, for a vacation or guest mode. Running the automation by hand still works. The room's trigger IDs are now documented, so a condition can stop only some runs, such as a sensor lighting the room at night.

Changed

  • FLARE needs Home Assistant 2026.11.0 or newer, for both the integration and the blueprint. On 2026.10, stay on FLARE 2.0 until you update Home Assistant.
  • Sensors From Areas only shows in a room that has it turned off. Rooms with it on (the default) don't see it any more; use Exclude target in Lights & Occupancy instead.
  • Additional Triggers takes triggers, as an ordinary automation does, so a room can update on something specific: the TV changing to playing, an attribute, a button press. They still only adjust lights that are already on, and never switch one on. Rooms keep the entities they listed: they're now under Settings as Additional Trigger Entities and still work.
  • The blueprint's sections are reordered: Sensors (the section that held Wait time and Lux Threshold, renamed), Brightness, Idle Brightness, Scenes, Transitions, a new Triggers & Conditions section holding Additional Triggers and Conditions, and Settings. Headings split them into Customise and Advanced.

Deprecated

  • Additional Trigger Entities (the old Additional Triggers list) will be removed in FLARE 3.0. Add a State trigger for each of its entities to Additional Triggers instead.

Fixed

  • RGB LED strips are no longer marked overridden when nobody has touched them. A light with no colour temperature of its own is set by Home Assistant to the RGB for the colour temperature FLARE asks for, and FLARE read that colour back as a much warmer white (2700 K as about 1870 K), so the strip was marked overridden a minute after every update. FLARE now compares such a light's colour with the RGB Home Assistant sent it, and the Overrides dashboard shows that RGB as what was asked, beside the RGB the strip reports. Thanks to @LotharMadsson (#350).
  • Dimmers and on/off lights are no longer marked overridden when nobody has touched them. Home Assistant drops the colour FLARE sends a light that can't show one, and the brightness it sends an on/off light, but FLARE still expected the light to show them, so the first report it made of its own marked it overridden. FLARE now compares only what a light can show.
