FLOPPY Weekly Release Notes

Changes since last release:

  • Track quick check-ins across more of your library — The track button now starts with the forward action and supports movie check-ins, show check-ins, and check-ins for games, books, comics, manga, and videos; supported check-ins can also appear in Now Playing.

  • Bring games in from Playnite — Import your Playnite library, search and import with your own account, and refresh game artwork through more providers and keys.

  • Follow Stremio playback and library activity — Stremio’s player and library add-on can send playback observations into Floppy’s progress and History, with improved handling for real-world libraries and safer event ordering.

  • Enrich Kavita comics with Comic Vine — Fill in series and issue metadata while keeping issue identities and dates from being guessed incorrectly.

  • Choose what music Recently Played shows — Set the row to show albums, artists, tracks, or all three.

  • Make lists and library details more useful — Custom list order can use per-item ranks, albums can be added to custom lists, detail pages have a Notes button, and tag links now lead to the entries counted on the page.

  • Polish the phone experience — Episode lists show their metadata sooner, phone links stay above rating controls, and media-detail actions and layouts behave more cleanly across screen sizes.

  • Keep tracking and imports trustworthy — Fixes cover duplicate-bucket list adds, Trakt re-imports, overwrite imports that could mark tracked items deleted, uneven repeat-play progress, and incomplete Jellyfin playback sessions.

  • Make video, art, and statistics behave better — Video pages now show fuller details, YouTube thumbnails and same-day History order are handled more carefully, game artwork can refresh with new providers, and Statistics controls stay on screen.

  • Smooth out setup and reliability edges — Trakt supports PKCE apps without a client secret, the setup wizard can include an optional Metadata step, missing dependencies no longer prevent startup, and background syncs handle unreachable caches more gracefully.

A Note About Floppy

I'm still not a professional developer; I'm an enthusiastic maintainer using AI coding tools to build the media tracker I want to use. Floppy is a standalone project based on the incredible work of FuzzyGrim/Yamtrack, independently maintained and supported by @dannyvfilms. Yamtrack import and documented compatibility paths remain supported, but users install Floppy directly rather than treating an upstream container replacement as a migration plan.

Docker Updates: You can pull the canonical Floppy image at any time:

ghcr.io/dannyvfilms/floppy:latest

The legacy ghcr.io/dannyvfilms/yamtrack:latest image path remains available during the transition for existing Floppy installations. Please use the supported import path when moving data from upstream Yamtrack, preserve the original database, and test on a copy first. A container image swap is a one-way migration, so if you are coming from upstream Yamtrack test in parallel and import your data. Changing your container image runs migrations you cannot roll back.

Contributing: Floppy-specific bug reports, feature requests, integration ideas, and pull requests are welcome in this repository. Thanks to @ElijahB5088 for their first merged contributions, plus @lucamaia9, @alexiri, @crimsonsunset, and everyone who reported problems or helped surface the edges that needed repair.

If you have time to help answer questions in the Discord, that would be appreciated. I’ll try to be active there, but GitHub is still keeping most of my attention, so additional support from contributors will help. There's also an extremely underdeveloped Website if anybody wants to share the project.

Thanks for understanding, and happy tracking!
