(keep theassetsfolder next to the executable). - Run
beetle-adventure-racing-recomp.exe. On first launch choose Load ROM; afterwards it starts
straight from Start Game.
Settings, key bindings, Controller Pak saves and the cached ROM live in

What's new
- Multiplayer, up to four players. Pads are assigned in the order they are connected. To play the
keyboard as another player, use Controls → Assign players. Player 1 keeps the Controller Pak and
rumble; players 2–4 each get a Rumble Pak. - Split-screen widescreen: all four views fill the screen, the dividers between them reach the
edges, and in Beetle Battle each player's health bar and ladybugs sit at their side of the screen. - Results screens: the race result, records and save screens are no longer pulled apart in
widescreen. - More HUD elements placed correctly out of the box.
- Hang watchdog: if the game stops responding for 5 seconds, it writes a
hang-report-*.txtto the
settings folder. Please attach it to a report.
Known issues
- The game can freeze when leaving the results screen after a race. It's diagnosed as an audio loop and
not yet fixed. - An intermittent crash at startup (
_uvScDoneAud) has been seen before and not reproduced. If the game
fails to start, try again. - A Linux build is in progress but not released.
Not tested
- Linux, macOS.
- 3-player games and split-screen races (2- and 4-player battles were played).
