HaCasa Nova 3.1.0-beta.4

pre-release7 hours ago

A big one. This beta changes what you see by default, adds seven cards, turns the agenda into a real calendar and redoes four popups. Please read the first point before you update.

Fewer cards by default

The home view now starts with Attention, Weather and Household, plus Security when you have an alarm or a lock and Agenda when you have a calendar. A room shows its lights, plugs and motion sensors. Everything else is yours to add: open edit mode (hold the page title, or More → Edit), tap Add card, and pick what you want. Added cards get a bin in edit mode, so you remove them instead of hiding them. Groups, graphs and template cards you made stay where they were.

This means cards that used to appear on their own (thermostat, waste, scenes, energy, a playing speaker, covers, doors and windows in a room, and so on) are gone after the update until you add them back. Rooms that have nothing to show and nothing added drop out of the navigation; Settings → Rooms still lists any room by hand. I know that is a bit of work once, but it leaves you with a panel that shows what you chose rather than everything it could find.

New cards

  • Security: the alarm, open doors and windows, locks and cameras in one card. The popup arms or disarms (with the keypad when needed), lists what is open, locks and unlocks, and shows every camera. The shield pill in the header opens the same popup now.
  • Household: everyone with their picture, grey when away, with where they are. With the Proximity integration it says "on the way · 12 km".
  • List: a to-do or shopping list with tick boxes, an add field and Clear completed. Your shopping list is picked up by itself, another list is chosen in the card settings.
  • Timers: Home Assistant timer helpers counting down, with +5 / +15 / +60.
  • Car: the charge as a ring, range, charging power and when the battery is full, with a start / stop button. Pick the sensors in the card settings.
  • Solar: solar power now, today's yield, the home battery and how much of your use is your own power. Sensors under Settings → Energy.
  • Garden: watering zones as buttons, the next run and today's rain.
  • Air quality per room: a room with a CO₂, fine dust, VOC or similar sensor gets a card with the readings rated good / so-so / poor and a one-line advice.

Calendar

The agenda popup is a week grid: a colour per calendar, an all-day row, a now-line and a side column with what is on now and next. Day and List views sit next to it (List is the default on phones). Tap an event for its time, place and description.

Popups redone

  • Lights: every lamp that is on, per room, with a brightness slider on its row and an off per room. Hide sliders makes it a plain list again. A lamp that has been on for a while in a room where nothing moved gets a hint.
  • Weather: rain for the next two hours as a graph (Buienradar's minute forecast when you have it), feels-like, eight hours, the week as a temperature bar per day. Colour weather glyphs on the card and in the header too.
  • Energy: where the power comes from and goes (solar, house, battery, grid) when a solar sensor is set, today per hour with the solar share in yellow, and the biggest consumers right now with a switch for the plugs among them.
  • Media: every player in the house with a volume slider each, grouping where the integration supports it, a seek bar and Stop all.

Also in this beta

Groups come in two kinds (light groups get brightness steps or colours), a counter style and a group popup with sliders. Status pills are editable, reorderable and extendable with your own. Card defaults have a preview per kind. Every icon field has a picker over all Material Design Icons and 53 new HaCasa icons, and an icon you pick shows exactly as picked. Pop-ups, menus and page switches animate (Settings → General → Animations turns that off). Panel settings is called HaCasa settings now.

The full list is in the changelog. Thanks for testing, and tell me what breaks.
