Beta. This is a test release of 3.1: HACS only offers it when the repository's pre-release switch is on: in Home Assistant go to Settings → Devices & services → Entities, clear the filter that hides disabled entities, search for switch.hacasa_nova_pre_release, enable it and turn it on. From then on HACS (and the update line in the panel) offer the beta; turn the switch off to go back to stable releases only. Settings are stored per user and upgrade in place; going back to 3.0.5 keeps working (new settings are ignored there). Please report what breaks in Discussions or an issue.

- Edit mode. Administrators pick More → Edit room (or Edit home view), or hold the page title. Every card of the page shows up: drag by the grip to reorder, × hides, hidden cards stay dimmed with a banner so you can bring them back, a tap opens the card settings, and Add card at the end adds something new. Done leaves edit mode.
- Add card works like Home Assistant's card picker: Devices (light, switch or plug, door or window, motion, on/off sensor, value, media, thermostat, shutter, fan, lock, camera, other → then the matching entities), HaCasa cards (weather, agenda, waste, energy, attention, home thermostat, scenes and light scenes of a room, a new group or graph configured right there) and Your own cards (template). An entity can be added to a page in HaCasa only, or moved to that area in Home Assistant.
- Value card for plain sensors (temperature, power, a text): the number large, the name under it, the last change at the bottom.
- Card settings redone: a live preview of the card next to the form, settings grouped under Appearance, Behaviour, Action buttons and Advanced, choices as buttons with a std marker for the default, action buttons with a service picker and a JSON check. Door, window and motion cards get a Kind choice for sensors with a wrong device class.
- Visible (condition) on every card: a simple comparison (entity · is / is not / greater / less · value) or a Jinja template, with show when true / false. For the home-maintenance use case from #167.
- Template cards as a library: defined once under Settings → Template cards, placed through edit mode with the entity and the fields the template asks for; or written right in the picker, once for that page or kept in the library. Template cards that were pinned to a page move to that page automatically.
- ••• in popups opens a menu over the popup: Card settings, Open in Home Assistant, Open device, Hide on this page.
- Graph card: a numeric sensor's line over 3 h – 7 d, on the home view or in a room; door, window and motion cards can show their on/off line (Bottom → graph).
- Phones and tablets: a glass bar at the bottom — Home, rooms, two shortcuts (Sensors and Energy by default, configurable) and More — plus a search button; only the active tab shows its name. Prefer the 3.0 layout? Settings → General → Bar on phones → at the top.
- Thermostat card: the current temperature as the big number, the setpoint on the slider, one extra bottom item of your choice.
🔧 Changed
- Groups and graphs are made and edited on the page itself; their settings tabs are gone.
- Card defaults and every other choice in the settings use the same pill buttons as the card settings.
- German translation (thanks @mlo-Tek); translations are one file per language.
