New Features
Convert single-file mp3s to m4b (#22)
New optional CONVERT_NON_M4B environment variable. When set to "true", single-file books that are not .m4b (e.g. a single mp3) are converted to m4b regardless of their bitrate — for libraries that should contain only m4b files:
- Encoding uses the lower of the source bitrate and the target (
BITRATE_CAPif set, otherwiseBITRATE), so low-bitrate books are never upscaled - Independent of
CONVERT_SINGLE_FILES(which re-encodes books above the target bitrate) — use either flag alone or combine both - Multi-file books always take priority; single-file conversions only use leftover slots
- Every checked book is logged with its codec, bitrate and the decision; failure tracking and the conversion log work as usual
- Off by default — nothing changes for existing setups
Also improved: success detection for single-file conversions now verifies the result is actually an m4b, so a failed mp3 conversion can no longer be misread as a success.
