Bug Fixes
Failure tracking and conversion log never triggered (#17)
Audiobookshelf removes encode tasks from /api/tasks as soon as they end — on success and on failure. The app only polled that task list and waited for isFailed / isFinished tasks that never appear there. As a result:
failures.json(FAILURE_PERSIST_PATH) was never written and repeatedly failing books were converted endlessly- the conversion log (
CONVERSION_LOG_PATH, added in v1.6.0) stayed empty
Fix: conversion outcomes are now detected from the item's file state instead of the task list. Once a conversion started by this app is no longer active, the item is checked directly:
- a single
.m4bfile → success → conversion log entry is written - still multiple audio files → failure → failure counter is incremented,
failures.jsonis written, and afterMAX_CONVERSION_FAILURESattempts the book is skipped
Known limitation: only conversions started by this app are tracked. If the container restarts while a conversion is running, that attempt's outcome is not counted.
