This is a major release. Back up your user-settings folder.
Upgrading to 4.0.0 from 3.4.1 or a 4.0.0 beta?
After installing this release you'll be greeted with a new user walk-through. At the bottom of this popup you'll see a link for "Upgrading from 3.4.1?". Click that link to import your settings from a past version. This will move your user settings to the new location Firebot uses.
Description:
v4.0.0 is a rewrite of the front end of Firebot. This rewrite will fix so many bugs we can't fit them all in the patch notes. It also introduces an auto updater to make getting the newest versions easier. There are a few bits of new functionality as well. See the patch notes below.
Notes:
Controls files from v3.4.1 will work with this version. If you're using a "Change Group" effect you'll want to go in and re-save that button due to a back end change. If you're using the "Custom Script" effect, the scripts folder has moved inside of the user-settings folder to better line up with the organization of the app.

- Port Changing: You're not able to change the port number that Firebot uses to connect to the overlay. This will help in some cases where images and videos don't show on the overlay. This requires a restart of both Firebot and the overlay. (ebiggz)
- Auto Group Changes: Changes have been made to the auto grouper so that it only runs if you're using related groups. This gives a good performance boost for massive channels. (Firebottle)
- Dice Effect Changes: Added option to dice effect to allow display of result for each individual die rolled. (ebiggz)
- Performance Improvements: Significantly reduced the number of times the app needed to access the hard drive and implemented various performance improvements. (everyone)
- Updates Changes: The update page now will show alerts when there is an update available. There are also now buttons for submitting bugs and requesting features. (Firebottle)
- Joystick Visual: If you have a joystick on your board it will now show in Firebot. Firebot has always supported joysticks, but they never actually appeared in the app until now. (ebiggz)
- Cat Facts: Changed to a new cat fact api as the other one went down. (ThePerry)
- Themes: Added a dark and light theme. (Firebottle)
- Fixed issue where you were sometimes unable to delete users from custom groups.
- Fixed issue where alt button on game controls sometimes became unchecked.
- Fixed issue where editing a cool down groups would duplicate it.
