ZapFast 0.20.1 fixes custom themes with see-through colours on Linux, which 0.20.0 broke, and brings the first round of contributions since: send a photo as view once, group status mentions no longer show as unsupported messages, HD copies of photos stay out of the chat, and about 140 more of the interface's words can be translated.

New
- Send a photo as view once. By @ArthurWillers. (#597)
- ZapFast leaves notifications to your phone while your displays are off, so they don't wait unseen on a sleeping computer. By @victorblino. (#596)
- About 140 more of the interface's words can be translated: menus, dialogs and labels that were English in every language. By @brsbrkctn. (#516)
Fixed
- Custom themes with see-through colours work on Linux again. Since 0.20.0 such a theme was drawn on an opaque window, so scrolling left trails and an unfocused window flickered. It gets a transparent window again, as in 0.19, and blur from the compositor works as before. By @crmne; thanks @Marukooh, who traced it. (#593)
- "Mentioned this group in their status" no longer shows as an unsupported message. The phone shows no message for it, and neither does ZapFast now; the ones already filed are removed. By @crmne; thanks @sonthomsen, who decoded it. (#595)
- The HD copy of a photo or video no longer shows as an unsupported message next to the photo itself. By @sonthomsen. (#594)
- Stars, pins and motion photos survive when a contact's privacy-id chat and phone-number chat are merged. By @samirhvbr. (#590)
- Voice messages with a repeated first page play instead of being refused. By @bruno-costanzo. (#571)
- Pinned chats stay above chats with a parked draft, and the composer's Undo stays within the chat and account it was typed in. By @eternalwaitt. (#533, #529)
- The forward dialog uses the room a large window gives it, and group delivery ticks are looked up faster. By @Dug0412. (#546, #547)
- A cryptography library used for calls and media takes a security update (RUSTSEC-2026-0385). By @crmne.
Known limitations
- Calls are still a work in progress, as described in 0.20.0: video calls are in alpha, and in group calls your video stops for a moment every few seconds (#592).
