Spotifast 0.11 makes the player move: a Winamp spectrum or scope can now dance behind the player bar in your cover's colours, full-screen lyrics sit beside a large cover (or show just the cover when a song has no words), and new colours open from the middle of the window the way Omarchy's theme changes do. It also puts eight ready-made palettes in your themes folder, adds a random Winamp skin, Ctrl+X for songs, and fixes updating on Windows for installations that still started as Fastpotify.

Full-screen lyrics with the cover, the player bar visualizer, and the cover alone (demo content).

New

• The player bar moves with the music. Settings → Appearance → Player bar visualizer draws Winamp's spectrum, with all 75 of its bands, or Winamp's scope behind the player bar, in colours from the cover, with glowing bars, peaks that hang and fall, and a pulse with the bass. Click the bar's empty space to switch between spectrum, waveform and off. Like the mini player's visualizer, it follows the equalizer, not the volume, and moves only while the song plays on this computer. It is off by default. By @crmne.
• Full-screen lyrics show the cover. In a wide window the cover sits large beside the lyrics, the two centred together, and a song without words, such as an instrumental, shows just its cover in the middle of the screen. By @crmne; thanks @rayspread and @AshKxK. (#346)
• The line being sung sits near the top of the lyrics, so the lines still to come fill the view, in the side panel and in full screen. By @crmne.
• New colours open from the middle, as in Omarchy. Picking a theme, Omarchy switching themes, or your system going light or dark now reveals the new colours with Omarchy's own animation instead of switching in a single frame. By @crmne.
• Eight palettes to use or start from. Spotifast now puts Catppuccin, Catppuccin Latte, Nord, Ristretto, Rose Pine, Rose Pine Dawn, Rose Pine Moon and Tokyo Night in your themes folder the first time it starts. They are ordinary files: pick them, change them, copy one to make your own, or delete the ones you don't want. The theme picker lists names without .json, and How to make a theme beside Open themes folder opens the guide. By @crmne.
• A random Winamp skin. Choose Random among the skins, and each switch to the mini player picks another one, never the same twice in a row. By @crmne; thanks @calomarucalomaru676. (#299)
• Cut songs with Ctrl+X (Cmd+X on macOS): in a playlist you can edit, it copies the selected songs and removes them, so Ctrl+V in another playlist moves them there. By @crmne; thanks @smvsch. (#539)
• Enter adds to the first matching playlist. Typing in Add to playlist highlights the first match; Enter adds to it, and the arrow keys choose another. By @crmne.

Fixed

• Updating works again on Windows when Spotifast was started as fastpotify.exe. The update installed but came back with "The update could not start", because updates restart the program under the name it was started from. Installations still using the old name now move onto spotifast.exe as they update, shortcuts that started the old file are pointed at the new one, and a Mac copy still called Fastpotify.app comes back as Spotifast.app. By @crmne; thanks @G2Poti for the report and @kevin9327 for tracking down the cause (#588). • Media controls see a song on repeat start over. On Linux, status bars and other MPRIS clients kept counting past the end of a repeated song; Spotifast now tells them the song went back to the start. By @crmne; thanks @Magniquick. (#587)
• Large playlists save faster. Loading a big playlist no longer rewrites every song saved so far each time it saves progress. By @luiscuellar31; thanks @juanre7. (#571, #328)
• Arabic titles on Windows are as large as the text around them. Spotifast drew Arabic with an old print face whose letters are much smaller; it now uses Segoe UI, the face Windows itself uses, and Hebrew, Indic and Thai titles use Windows' own interface faces too. By @crmne.
• A scrolled page slides under the header with a shadow. The fade at the top of a scrolled page blended into a plain background colour, which showed as a pale band over a cover's tint; the header now casts a soft shadow instead, in both themes. By @crmne.

Known limitations

• The player bar visualizer uses about 7% of one CPU core while it moves, which is why it is off by default. It only moves for music playing on this computer, not on other Spotify devices.
