This release makes the Classic and Minimal themes easier to read, keeps base64 images in signatures, and adds an About page and a message source view.
Easier to read (#11)
- Text in the Classic and Minimal themes, light and dark, now meets the 4.5:1 contrast that accessibility checkers expect. On the inbox with a message open, text below that line went from 59–86 elements to none in Classic and Minimal light (Minimal dark had 5).
- The mail list gets a stronger color for its smaller text: the To line, previews, read messages and dates now reach about 7:1.
- Borders between cards and panels are stronger, so it's easier to see where one item ends and the next begins.
- Labels, dates, addresses and placeholders that were faded with transparency now use the theme's secondary color. This also brightens them in the Express theme.
Signatures (#10)
- Images embedded in a signature as base64 (
data:image/...) are no longer removed when you switch to the rendered view or save.
About page (#8)
- Settings has a new About page that shows the running version, the commit it was built from and, for builds from source, the branch.
- It can check GitHub for a newer release and tells you what it compared against.
- It lists the third-party software Gofer includes, with their licenses.
View source
- The message menu has a View source item. It shows warnings and the SPF, DKIM and DMARC results the receiving server recorded, a table of sender details, every header in order, and the raw message.
- Gofer shows the results the server recorded. It doesn't verify signatures itself.
Gofer remains pre-1.0. I'm actively using and improving it, but please keep backups and test your setup before relying on it for anything critical.
