This release adds experimental JMAP accounts and fixes how mail sent to yourself is kept on Gmail and Outlook.
JMAP accounts (experimental)
- Gofer can now use JMAP mail servers, behind
GOFER_JMAP_EXPERIMENT=true; it's off by default while it settles. - Add an account by address, server or session URL, and Gofer finds the server through SRV,
.well-known/jmapor the host. - Mail syncs and new mail arrives through push. Read, starred, move, delete, labels and spam reports go back to the server.
- Sending, drafts, attachments, CalDAV and CardDAV, calendar replies by email, and profile export all work with JMAP accounts.
Mail sent to yourself
- On Gmail and Outlook, the Sent and Inbox copies of mail sent to yourself are now kept apart. The message no longer jumps between Sent and Inbox, loses a copy on a full sync, or disappears from both folders when you delete one.
- Read and starred reach both copies. Moving or deleting acts on the copy in the folder you're in.
- Move to… now moves the copy you're looking at. This also fixes Gmail messages under two labels.
Mail security
- Administrators can approve a plain
http://server by host and port under Mail security. CalDAV can now reach approved plain-HTTP servers.
Fixes
- Deleting both copies of a message quickly no longer loses the first delete. This also applies to IMAP mail kept in two folders.
- Managed mode: approving a private address for a web server no longer affects IMAP accounts on the same host and port.
Upgrade notes
- ⚠️ This release upgrades the database (schema 119). You can't go back to an older release afterwards, so back up your data directory first.
- ⚠️ CardDAV over plain
http://now needs an administrator's approval under Mail security. Until it's approved, those address books stop syncing. - Mail sent to yourself that an earlier release merged into one message is split into its two copies on the next full sync.
Gofer remains pre-1.0. I'm actively using and improving it, but please keep backups and test your setup before relying on it for anything critical.
