d4r 0.1.5 for Windows

Download d4r-0.1.5-windows.zip, extract it beside the game's main executable and run install.bat.

Added

  • Windows support for amd rdna 3, 3.5 and 4: gfx1100–1103, gfx1150–1154, gfx1200–1201.
  • Native K and M dlss kernels for all of those gpu.
  • install.bat, which downloads the nvidia and amd dependencies and checks their hashes.
  • Experimental fsr ray regeneration.
  • Support for more color, motion, depth and Ray Reconstruction input formats.
  • Faster Super Resolution and improved startup and recovery handling.
  • Added support for dlss rr to fsr rr. (should work fine in some games, hasnt been tested that much)

Notes

  • Ray Reconstruction is off by default. For fsr, set Backend = fsr under [RayReconstruction] in d4r/d4r.ini and restart the game.
  • Tested on an RX 7700 XT (gfx1101). Other GPUs are compile-tested only.
  • Honestly if you're on rdna 3 dont use dlss M, dlss rr or fsr rr. The performance is very very bad and will be improved later

d4r 0.1.5 for Linux

Download d4r-0.1.5-linux.zip, extract it beside the game's main executable and run bash install.sh. In Steam use GE-Proton 11 with the launch options PROTON_FORCE_NVAPI=1 DXVK_NVAPI_GPU_ARCH=AD100 %command%.

Added

  • Switch dlss models in game: OptiScaler menu (Insert) > DLSS Settings > tick Render Presets Override, pick E, K, L or M and press Apply Changes.
  • Switch to fsr in game: Upscaler (DX12) > FSR 3.X/4. rdna 3 and 4 get fsr 4.1, other gpus fsr 3.1. The game still sees an nvidia gpu.
  • Linux support for amd rdna 2: gfx1030–1036 (rx 6000 series, steam deck, rdna 2 igpus) for dlss E and K.
  • Native K dlss kernels for rdna 2, which has no WMMA. On rdna 3 hardware they give the same output as the WMMA kernels, and K went from 46.8 ms to 3.6 ms per 1080p frame compared to running it fully translated.
  • d4r's own vulkan dlss engine for K, L, M and dlss rr D, E and F. It is on by default once its models are installed, and it's faster.
  • install.sh asks what to install, downloads dlss rr 310.9.1, builds the engine models from your own nvidia dlls and caches everything so the next game installs instantly.
  • Dlss ray reconstruction (D and E through nvidia's denoiser, F on the engine).
  • Faster K and M, especially M on rdna 4 (fp8).
  • Support for more color, motion and depth input formats (R9G9B9E5, R8G8B8A8 motion vectors, R16_FLOAT depth).
  • Fixed corruption when changing the dlss quality mode, and dlss now gets recreated properly when the render size changes.

Notes

  • A preset picked in OptiScaler wins over Model in d4r/d4r.ini. Untick Render Presets Override to go back to it.
  • fsr 4.1 needs GE-Proton (it provides amd's fsr 4 library). [OptiScaler] FollowPresets and Fsr4 in d4r/d4r.ini turn the new switching off.
  • rdna 2 hasnt been tested on a real rdna 2 gpu yet, only on an RX 7700 XT. M and L on rdna 2 run fully translated and will be slow, use K or E.
  • Replace d3d12.dll, d3d12core.dll and the whole d4r folder together when updating.
