  • Em dashes — carve-out for the definition-list separator position: an em dash after a bolded lead term or a markdown link opening a bulleted or numbered list item (- **Term** — description, - [label](url) — description) is typography, not a prose splice, and no longer counts toward the 1-per-1,000-words rate. The detector's exclusion requires the list marker — a line-initial **Bold lead** — full sentence outside a list is itself an AI tell and still counts, as do mid-sentence splices; the -- substitute is never carved out. The same separator dashes no longer corroborate the smart-punct-signature co-occurrence check either — its em-dash leg now requires a non-separator dash. Fixtures added for all the boundaries: bulleted and numbered definition lists stay clean, markerless bold-lead splices and flowing-prose splices still fire, and a curly-quoted definition list with separator-only dashes no longer completes the smart-punct signature. This repo's own README and changelog use the separator convention throughout, which is what the strict-context false positive looks like in practice. (The same carve-out was independently proposed upstream in blader/humanizer PR #190.)
