Raise the
godirective from 1.26.0 to 1.26.10 so that applications are
built with a Go toolchain that rejects the eMudhra intermediate CAs whose
private keys were compromised (CVE-2026-111943,
Go advisory GO-2026-6809). This
covers HTTPS connections made by the Schema Registry client and the KMS
drivers. Users withGOTOOLCHAIN=auto(the default) on Go 1.26 will fetch
Go 1.26.10 transparently; users withGOTOOLCHAIN=localmust upgrade to
Go 1.26.10 or later. Kafka broker TLS goes through librdkafka and the
host's CA store, so it is not affected by this change (#1637).Caution: Go 1.27.0, 1.27.1 and 1.27.2 are also affected, but they satisfy
thego 1.26.10directive, so they are not upgraded automatically.
Applications built with Go 1.27 must use Go 1.27.3 or later. Patched
toolchains are 1.26.10+ and 1.27.3+.
confluent-kafka-go is based on librdkafka 2.16.0, see the
librdkafka 2.16.0 release notes
for a complete list of changes, enhancements, fixes and upgrade considerations.
