Compass TV 0.2 is a stability update focused on remote navigation, sign-in and error reporting.
Fixes
- Profiles: The remote no longer stops responding when you create or edit a profile. The PIN and confirmation screens opened from that page now take focus correctly too.
- Setup: Continue can be selected again after signing in to Stremio. Previously the home page behind setup could take focus when its rows reloaded.
- Simkl: Sign-in no longer fails with
HTTP 400 unauthorized_client. It now uses the OAuth 2.0 device flow. - Anime tracking: Back now returns to Settings. Previously it could close the app and reopen the same page on the next launch.
- Streams: The "We could not find a working stream" message now explains the cause when a title has only torrent (P2P) sources and no debrid service is linked, or when none of its sources are cached.
Changes
- Crash reports: Compass TV now sends crash reports to the Compass bug tracker on the next launch. A report contains the stack trace, app version, device model, Android version and locale. Web addresses are reduced to their host, and email addresses and long tokens are removed.
- Branding: The app now uses the same logo as Compass on desktop.
Before you install
- Uninstall any earlier version first. This build uses a new signing key, so it cannot update an older install. Uninstalling removes the sign-ins and settings stored on the TV.
- 32-bit ARM only (
armeabi-v7a). Devices that cannot run 32-bit Android apps will refuse the install. - P2P sources need a debrid service. Compass TV has no built-in torrent engine. Link a service under Settings > Setup > Accounts and TMDB.
Known issue
We are still investigating a report of the app crashing when playback starts. If it happens to you, reopen the app and leave it running for about 20 seconds so the report can be sent.
