5.1.1 adds Claude Sonnet 5.5, stops built-in categories from billing gateways like OpenRouter behind your back, gives every session its own task host so one crash no longer takes down everyone's background tasks, and ships the senpi 2026.9.29 engine with a round of Claude subscription fixes. omo update installs it, or run:

- Claude Sonnet 5.5 is available on Anthropic, Claude subscriptions, Bedrock, OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway, Venice and OpenCode, with a tuned prompt preset picked automatically.
- New category defaults:
unspecified-lownow opens on Claude Sonnet 5.5 (medium), anddeep-lowopens on GPT-5.6 Sol (medium) with the Fast tier as its fallback. Categories you pinned yourself are unchanged. (#9144) - Together AI now defaults to Kimi K3.
Billing
- Built-in categories and agents stay on their own providers. When none of a chain's listed providers was connected, OmO fell through to any provider selling a model with the same name, so a gateway such as OpenRouter could be billed for built-in categories, agents or
model_profilelanes you never configured. They now run only on the providers their chain lists, and a gateway is used only when you pin it yourself. (#9146) - When only a gateway serves a built-in category, the task notice and

Background tasks
- One task host per session. Background tasks used to share one machine-wide host, so a crash, out-of-memory kill or wedge in that host stopped every session's tasks at once. Each session's tasks now run on that session's own host, so a failure stays inside the session that caused it. (#9003)
Claude subscription and sessions (senpi 2026.9.29)
- Long sessions no longer die when a restart has to resend a history that is too large: OmO compacts once and retries instead of failing every following turn with "Prompt is too long". (#7975)
- Changing the thinking level while a turn is running no longer ends that turn, and a failed request no longer forces a resend of the whole history. (#8759)
- Claude subscription sessions stop resending their full history over and over, and recovering from a checkpoint is safe again. (#8424)
- Claude subscription requests identify as the current Claude Code version.
- AWS credentials in your environment no longer make Bedrock the default model when you have logged in to another provider. AWS-only setups still start on Bedrock, and a default you saved always wins.
LazyCodex
- A model you set for a LazyCodex agent (for example
explorerorlibrarian) now survives updates instead of being reset. (#5245)
macOS
- The macOS binaries now carry valid signatures; the Intel (x64) binary previously shipped with a broken one.
