GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna are supported models, and Hephaestus now runs on GPT-6 Sol. Both tiers are registered with their published capabilities: a 1.05M context window, a 128K output limit, text and image input, no temperature, and a reasoning ladder of none through max. Hephaestus leads with gpt-6-sol at medium effort across OpenAI, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode Zen, and keeps its previous gpt-5.6-sol medium rung as a fallback, so the agent still resolves on a provider that has not shipped GPT-6 Sol yet. The Fast service-tier ids gpt-6-sol-fast and gpt-6-luna-fast canonicalize to their base models the same way gpt-6-astra-fast already did. GPT-6 Luna is not a default for any agent or category and is available as a manual override.
Changed
The model profiles are now Capable and Deep work; Simple work is removed. (#8704)
The profile picker lists capable, then deep-work. Capable starts on Claude Fable 5.1 at xhigh instead of max, then Claude Opus 5.5, Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3 at max as before. Deep work is GPT-6 Astra at high, then GPT-6 Sol at medium, and stops there instead of continuing to GPT-5.6 Sol. The simple-work profile no longer ships: a configuration that still sets "model_profile": "simple-work" shows the unknown-profile notice listing the remaining profiles and keeps the default model, and a model_profiles.simple-work entry you wrote yourself keeps working as your own profile.
deep-low runs on GPT-6 Sol, and every Luna rung is GPT-6 Luna Fast. (#8701)
The default deep lane leads with gpt-6-sol at medium across OpenAI, ChatGPT Subscription, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode Zen and keeps gpt-5.6-sol at medium as its fallback rung, so a registry that has not picked up GPT-6 Sol yet still opens the lane; deep-high stays Astra-only. Wherever a builtin chain, default or profile named gpt-5.6-luna-fast it now names gpt-6-luna-fast at the same low effort: the quick category, the explore and librarian agents, the OpenAI-only installer catalog and the installer's explore default. The deep-work profile picks up the new Sol rung, gpt-6-luna and gpt-6-luna-fast join the telemetry vocabulary, the post-compaction budget knows the GPT-6 Sol (400k) and Luna (922k) prompt budgets, and gpt-6-luna-fast has a capability entry so the model-capability guardrail no longer reports a built-in model missing from the snapshot. The docs, shipped example configs and the generated telemetry schema follow.
Fable 5.1 chains step down to Claude Opus 5.5 before Kimi. (#8701)
The artistry category and the prometheus agent, both led by claude-fable-5-1, now carry claude-opus-5-5 at max as their second rung ahead of kimi-k3, matching senpi's own Fable 5.1 fallback ladder. architect is unchanged: it is hard-gated on Fable 5.1 and never falls back.
Fixed
Claude Opus 5.5 works on a fresh OmO Native install with a Claude subscription. (#8705)
Every request to claude-opus-5-5 on a subscription login was rejected with 400 claude_code_version_too_old (Claude Code 2.1.251 does not support this model; version 2.1.280 or newer is required) and the turn fell back to Claude Opus 5, so the recommended Anthropic model never answered. The postinstall step that raises the advertised Claude Code version only rewrote the pi-ai module, while the launcher runs the engine's pre-linked dist/bundle, which carries its own copy of the version. The floor is now 2.1.280 and postinstall applies it to every declaration under dist/bundle as well, rewriting only the version string and never lowering one that is already higher. Thanks to youngminsw for the diagnosis and the fix.
The Capable model profile no longer bills a Claude subscription user through OpenCode Zen. (#8704) On a machine logged in to a Claude subscription that also held an OpenCode Zen key, the Capable profile picked the metered opencode copy of Claude Fable 5.1, because the profile's Claude rungs never listed the subscription lane. Every Claude rung in the builtin profiles now tries the subscription first, the same order the delegation categories already use.
A reasoning effort of none is no longer silently raised to low on GPT-6 models that support it. Every model id containing gpt-6 shared one capability rule, which was written for GPT-6 Astra and therefore mapped none onto low. GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna both document none as a supported effort, so anyone who configured the cheapest tier on those models was quietly billed and throttled at low instead, with the change recorded as unsupported-by-model-family. The Astra rule is now matched on its own id and keeps its documented clamp, while the rest of the GPT-6 family accepts none. A per-model capability override could not have fixed this, because family effort aliases are applied before capability metadata.
