This beta records more about what happens when a track starts, to track down
a delay some USB speakers show with Exclusive output on.
- Changed: with Bit-perfect output on and a 16-bit audio device, MP3 and AAC
files are now decoded straight to 16-bit, so no conversion step remains
between the decoder and the device. - Changed: the time counter now changes the moment the first second has
played, instead of up to a third of a second later. - Improved: switching tracks with Bit-perfect output on no longer re-reads
your device's volume settings each time, which some USB speakers answer
slowly. - New: when the app or the audio stalls, the debug info now records exactly
where, and how long a track's opening silence lasts is recorded even when
the playlist's equalizer is hidden. - New: Vibe now records how long after your click each track's audio really
started, each step of taking over your audio device, when the time counter
starts moving, and how long a track opens with silence, along with every
change and notification your audio devices send and any moment the app or
the audio output stopped responding. Settings > Advanced > Debug info >
Save… includes it, and saving now works even while playback is stuck. - New: press M while Vibe is in front to mark a moment in that record, for
example the moment you hear a problem. It now works with any keyboard
layout. - Fixed: some MP3 files with extra data after their tags would not play.
- Fixed: an audio device that is off when Vibe opens is now used as soon as
you turn it on, and a device plugged into a different USB port keeps the
bit-perfect and exclusive settings you chose for that port. - Fixed: losing the last audio output mid-track could skip to the next track
instead of pausing, and quitting mid-track could move the playlist on. - Quitting no longer waits on your audio device: the window closes at once and
Vibe puts the device back the way it found it in the background. - Fixed: opening Vibe with Exclusive output on could show "Failed to get
device's audio settings" for bit-perfect output for the whole session.
