v1.2.0 saved your details in your browser. The obvious next question was what happens when you use two computers, or keep more than one signature. This release answers both.
Export and import your settings
Two new buttons under the preview, beside Reset to defaults.
Export settings saves everything you entered to a small file, named after you or your company, for example jane-murphy-signature.json. Import settings loads one of those files back in and fills the form.
That gives you a few things at once:
- Move between computers. Export on your laptop, import on your desktop, and carry on where you left off
- Keep several signatures. Save one file per signature, such as one for your day job and one for your side business, and import whichever you need
- Keep a backup. Clearing your browser data, switching browser or moving to a new machine no longer means starting from scratch
- Share a setup with colleagues. Send one file around and everyone starts from the same details, then changes their own name and number
The file holds everything the form holds: your name, title and company, contact details and address, logo and its width, font, text size, accent colour, every social and custom icon, your buttons and the disclaimer.
Files are written and read entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the tool still talks to no server at all, so this works the same on the live site, in Docker or from the HTML file on your desktop.
Imported files are treated with care: only form fields are filled, values are checked, and everything shown in the signature is escaped. A file that is damaged or not a settings file leaves your current details alone and shows a short message.
Thanks @mptpro for the suggestion (#7). This one was already in the works when you asked, and your note about using several signatures across different computers is exactly why.

Your saved details from v1.2.0 carry over untouched, and any signature you already set up keeps working.
