The Cilium core team have released Cilium v1.9.3.
During a two hour window today, the v1.9.2 image tag for several Cilium docker images on Quay.io was pointing to a version derived from the development branch of Cilium. This was an unintended side-effect of development processes triggered by the Cilium core team. We have restored the v1.9.2 image tags to point to the correct binaries. Out of an abundance of caution, the Cilium core team have prepared this v1.9.3 release with fresh images that are derived from the v1.9.3 git tag.
If you pulled Cilium v1.9.2 images (including the primary cilium image, cilium-operator, or any other image with the quay.io/cilium prefix) from Quay.io between 2020-01-22T13:10Z and 2020-01-22T15:49Z, you may be running a Cilium v1.9.2 image build of the development branch rather than the tagged release. The correct version for the images is 1.9.2 aad4e1c4d.
To ensure that you are running the expected version of Cilium, we encourage upgrading to v1.9.3 (version 1.9.3 ae8661f). The verified docker manifests for the v1.9.3 release are included below. You can use these when providing Cilium docker image tags to ensure that docker pulls the correct image, or compare your own deployments against these manifests to confirm that the Cilium version you are running is identical to the containers that were prepared by the Cilium core team.
Summary of Changes
This version fixes v1.9.2 docker images that were released in quay.io. These
images were unintentionally built from the master branch and they are not
recommended to run in production environments. Users using quay.io images are advised to
upgrade to v1.9.3.
