New Features

  • TweetDuck will begin sending anonymous usage data
    • You can always toggle the option and view what's sent in Options - Feedback
    • If the option was enabled before this update, you will be notified in case you changed your mind or want to review the data before it's sent
  • Added an option to always show character count next to the new circle, after Twitter rolled out 280 character tweets (the option is enabled by default, and can be disabled in Edit layout & design)
  • You can now temporarily move the notification window by holding Alt and dragging it
    • This lets you move the notification if it's obstructing another window
    • The location is restored after the notification window is closed, or manually by middle-clicking the title bar (go to Options - Notifications if you want to change the default location instead)
  • Selecting text when writing tweets and right-clicking it now lets you apply ROT13 to the selection, which is used to obfuscate spoilers
    • More related features will come in future updates
  • Pressing Ctrl+Enter while searching or middle-clicking the search icon opens the search in your browser

Enhancements

  • Using custom column width or font size now ensures that the input value uses pixels
  • Notification timer bar now becomes taller on high DPI screens
  • Disabled the default TweetDeck update notification, as it was often confusing and the app reloads the website at least once a day
  • Refactored many parts of TweetDuck's internals to make development easier and improve reliability

Bugfixes

  • Fixed GIFs sometimes opening in a browser due to a missing video URL
  • Fixed link expansion and tooltips not working for links with long domains
  • Fixed pressing Escape in the notification window not clearing the notification queue (meaning that skipped notifications could reappear next time)
  • Fixed misaligned plugin entries in the Plugins dialog after scrolling down and then reloading plugins
  • Fixed appearance of dialogs displayed before the main window on high DPI screens
  • Fixed an uncommon video player crash when closing the player near the end of a very short video
  • Fixed a small chance to have some imported options overwritten (such as zoom level) when using Import & Restart
