⚡ NV-UV v0.99.5 – DCC, NVIDIA Auto-UV and Verified Updates

NV-UV v0.99.5 became one of the biggest updates so far, so let’s get started. :)

⚙️ Dynamic Clock Clapping – Now Built into NV-UV

Dynamic Clock Clapping, or DCC, is now available directly inside NV-UV.

A left-click on the DCC button turns it on or off. A right-click opens the settings.

The automatic DCC mode recognizes games, learns how they behave and adjusts the GPU clock step by step. It regulates recognized games only and does not tune the Windows desktop.

The status display shows what DCC is doing, including waiting, loading a learned profile, learning, checking and regulating. Learned results are stored separately for each game and GPU, and individual learning profiles can be reset when needed.

DCC is designed to work alongside an active NV-UV profile. Turning DCC off removes its own clock cap without discarding the selected NV-UV profile.

Optional local performance logging can record the most important session data for later review.

🟢 NVIDIA Ultra Efficiency

DCC also includes the experimental global NVIDIA Ultra Efficiency mode.

Its efficiency target is not an FPS limiter. In AUTO mode, NV-UV uses the refresh rate of the primary Windows monitor as its starting point. If a game runs on another monitor or uses a different refresh rate, the target can be set manually.

Please enable this mode before starting the game. After changing its settings, restart the game completely. If an NV-UV profile was active before, NV-UV activates it again when Ultra Efficiency is turned off.

🎮 Frame Limiter and VSync

A global NVIDIA frame limiter and NVIDIA VSync can be configured independently from the selected DCC algorithm.

A limiter or VSync is recommended for consistent results. VSync is especially useful with Frame Generation. If either option is already enabled in the game or NVIDIA driver, there is no need to enable it again in NV-UV.

⚡ NVIDIA Auto-UV

The new experimental NVIDIA Auto-UV feature reads the individual V/F curve of your graphics card and suggests a possible starting point for undervolting.

Opening Auto-UV only shows a preview. Nothing is changed at this stage.

When you click Apply Auto-UV, NV-UV first asks you to select an MSI Afterburner slot from 1 to 5. If that slot is already in use, NV-UV asks before replacing it. Only after the slot has been selected and confirmed is the curve applied and saved as a regular NV-UV profile.

Results vary between individual GPUs depending on silicon quality, cooling and the graphics card itself. Auto-UV provides an experimental starting point, not a guarantee of stability.

🔐 Verified Updates with Rollback

NV-UV can now check for official updates directly inside the application.

You remain in control:

  • automatic daily checks are optional;
  • background downloads are optional;
  • installation always requires your explicit confirmation;
  • downloaded packages are verified before installation;
  • the existing installation is backed up first;
  • if the updated version does not start correctly, NV-UV restores the previous installation.

An update is never installed automatically.

🩺 Local Diagnostics and Optional Private Error Reports

NV-UV always creates the diagnostic ZIP locally first, allowing you to review the description, contact details and ZIP contents before anything is sent.

Sending an error report is optional and requires your consent. There is no automatic upload.

You can attach up to four PNG, JPG or WebP images:

  • maximum 5 MB per image;
  • maximum 10 MB for all images combined.

DCC and NVIDIA Auto-UV information are included in the shared diagnostic report when relevant.

🛠️ Important Fixes and Improvements

  • Fixed the incorrect hotspot recovery notice after hotspot setup and an MSI Afterburner restart (Issue #33).
  • Improved DCC game detection, learning, profile resume and Alt-Tab handling.
  • Improved DCC startup and status reporting.
  • Improved cooperation between DCC and active NV-UV profiles.
  • Improved Game Pass and Microsoft Store process recognition.
  • Isolated fan handling during single-point scanner runs.
  • Fixed the VRAM details popup layout.
  • Improved visible button hover effects across all five themes.
  • Improved validation of diagnostic ZIP files and image attachments.
  • Fixed the first-start confirmation used after an installed update.
  • Added the new experimental RTX 5070 Ti preset.

🎮 Game Database

  • Game Database v2.15
  • 647 game entries
  • Improved recognition of Game Pass and shared Windows process identities

📌 Notes

  • DCC and NVIDIA Auto-UV remain experimental.
  • NVIDIA Ultra Efficiency is a global driver mode and not an FPS limiter.
  • AUTO efficiency targeting follows the primary Windows monitor. Set the target manually when the game uses another refresh rate.
  • On laptop GPUs, the Auto-UV preview is available, but applying the curve remains disabled.
  • Do not run the standalone DCC application and the integrated NV-UV DCC module at the same time.
  • Thank you to everyone who tested DCC learning, game detection, profile restoration, NVIDIA Ultra Efficiency, Auto-UV and the new updater in real-world use. This update became much better because of your patience and detailed feedback. 💯
