🛡️ Blackwell Hotspot Reliability

Improved Hotspot Lifecycle

The existing experimental Blackwell hotspot feature has received several important safety and recovery improvements:

• Hotspot temperature is now also displayed in MiniView.
• Hotspot values retain one decimal place, while the regular GPU temperature remains integer-based.
• Fixed the Hotspot button remaining orange after a successful rollback on experimental Blackwell models.
• Existing hotspot installations are migrated automatically to a more durable recovery location:

%PROGRAMDATA%\NV-UV\BlackwellHotspot

• Hotspot manifests, backups and hardware identity information are no longer lost when the normal NV-UV user-data folder is deleted.
• Added detection for incomplete or orphaned hotspot installations.
• Improved handling after GPU profile, subsystem or VBIOS changes.
• Deleted or outdated MSI Afterburner hardware profiles are no longer restored from old hotspot backups.

Safer Recalibration

Recalibrate now checks whether experimental hotspot monitoring is active before MSI Afterburner profiles are recreated.

The protected workflow is now:

Hotspot detected → Controlled hotspot removal → NV-UV restart → Recalibration → New MSI Afterburner profile → Optional hotspot reinstallation

This prevents the hotspot configuration from interfering with MSI Afterburner profile creation after a GPU or VBIOS change.

If the previous rollback information is already missing, NV-UV no longer attempts to guess the original configuration and instead recommends a clean MSI Afterburner installation.

📋 Activity and Diagnostics

The previous mixed log panel has been separated into:

• Activity for clear, localized user-facing events.
• Diagnostics for the complete technical log.

The diagnostics export now creates a single ZIP containing:

• activity.log
• activity-previous.log
• diagnostic.log
• diagnostic-previous.log
• system-info.txt

Additional improvements:

• Added NVIDIA driver information to the diagnostics package.
• Added hotspot lifecycle, migration and recovery information.
• Diagnostic logs are limited to 10 MiB per current and previous file.
• Activity logs are limited to 2 MiB per current and previous file.
• Existing oversized logs are trimmed safely instead of growing indefinitely.

🎮 Game Browser Fixes

• Added visible Edit and Delete actions for manually added games.
• Fixed manually added games losing their user-added status after resetting a tier assignment.
• Fixed custom entries becoming impossible to edit or delete and potentially disappearing after restart.
• Improved the Add/Edit dialog so the action buttons remain visible at higher Windows display scaling.
• Existing game shortcuts can now be selected directly when adding a game.

🚀 Startup Reliability

• Improved validation and automatic repair of the NV-UV scheduled autostart task.
• NV-UV now verifies the executable path, --minimized argument, task state, logon trigger, privileges and startup delay.
• Improved startup handling while MSI Afterburner and MAHM shared memory are still initializing.
• Temporary MAHM startup states no longer appear as misleading user-facing errors.
• Added detailed autostart information to the diagnostics package.

📖 Guides

• Removed the outdated experimental wording from Ampere support documentation.
• Updated the guides for the new hotspot recovery and recalibration workflow.

📌 Notes

• Blackwell hotspot monitoring remains experimental and read-only.
• Existing hotspot sensors exposed by MSI Afterburner on older GPU generations can also appear in NV-UV telemetry. Automatic plugin installation remains limited to supported Blackwell GPUs.
• Existing active hotspot installations are migrated automatically on first start.
• Thanks to @mortan, @ZedZed2k, @mikodotb, @dhimanAdhikari and everyone testing NV-UV and submitting logs. Several of the fixes in this hotfix were found directly through community reports and real upgrade testing.
