Kilby 2.0 DEV Alpha · First test candidate
NV-UV Play is growing up. Welcome to the first early development alpha of Kilby, the new Play version and my first candidate for wider testing. Have fun trying it out!
Tested only on Blackwell so far. Other supported NVIDIA desktop GPUs are expected to work but have not been tested. Notebooks are excluded from this test release. This is an early alpha, not a stable release.
What's new in Kilby:
- Redesigned and improved profile management with six profile slots and shared global/game profiles.
- Reworked curve editor with point editing, Undo/Redo, power-limit and VRAM controls.
- Integrated UV scanner with adjustable tests, saved results and history; NVIDIA Auto-UV starting points and UV Try community profiles.
- UV Pilot, global game override with per-game exceptions, Stabilizer corrections and Smart Hz.
- DCC with saved per-game learning and visible Learning, Verifying profile, Regulated, Optimizing and Adjusting clock states.
- Configurable telemetry overlay with Desktop/Game modes, layout designer, colors and saved overlay profiles; FPS, 1% low, frame times, GPU/CPU and RAM readings.
- Independent hotspot readings on supported Blackwell GPUs, plus CPU temperature, clock and package power. Enabling readings that need PawnIO starts setup if support is missing; sensor availability depends on the hardware.
- Experimental exclusive-fullscreen overlay for DX11/DX12 and supported Vulkan modes. Off by default, with explicit warning acknowledgment: may cause anti-cheat bans or game crashes. SDR only; Vulkan requires preparation and a game restart. Actual-game compatibility remains under test.
- Optional experimental XBAR/SYS clock and voltage-demand controls with live readings, behind a separate risk notice.
- Game Library → Request a game, private diagnostic uploads, and signed update support.
- Larger settings windows, minimize/maximize/restore controls and direct right-click settings for DCC, Stabilizer and Overlay.
Extract the entire portable ZIP into its own folder before starting Play; keep it separate from an existing NV-UV installation. Do not use MSI Afterburner at the same time as Play. There is no tester guide yet; please ask in the community thread if you have questions.
If you encounter errors or unexpected behavior, please export diagnostics and upload a report using Settings → Report a problem. Include your GPU, driver version, affected game and steps to reproduce the issue; review the report before sending. You can also describe reproducible issues on GitHub.
Suggestions for improvements are always welcome.

The detections in these reports concern the two PlayOverlay.Attach.exe helpers for the optional experimental fullscreen overlay. They load Play's renderer into the game process using DLL injection. I suspect false positives related to this mechanism, which is also used by malicious software. The feature is off by default and requires explicit confirmation, but scanners can still flag the bundled files while it is disabled. These three reports do not cover the four renderer DLLs.
You can leave the flagged attach helpers in your antivirus quarantine. Without them, the experimental DX11/DX12 exclusive-fullscreen overlay is unavailable for games of the affected architecture. Play's main functions and its desktop/windowed/borderless overlay do not require these helpers. Vulkan uses a separate renderer DLL; quarantining that DLL disables the corresponding Vulkan overlay too.
