This release is for Spicy testnet, and it is a mandatory upgrade for every Spicy node operator, validators included. It schedules two hard forks on Spicy (chainId 88882):

Upgrade before 2026-10-08 08:00 UTC. A node still on 2.9.5 or earlier will diverge from the network at the first block past each activation time.

• Nodes started with --spicy pick up both timestamps automatically.
• Nodes started with --genesis <file> must add "deployerProxySunsetTime": 1791446400 and "snake8FixTime": 1791453600 to the config section of that file.

What the forks change:

• DeployerProxySunset turns off the DeployerProxy deployment and invocation hooks, so contract deployment on Spicy becomes permissionless. Gas used by deployments, and by calls that previously went through the hook, changes. ContractDeployed events from the DeployerProxy stop, and its sub-call disappears from traces. Historical blocks still replay through the hooks.
• Snake8Fix makes the validator frequency data embedded in block headers consensus-verified: blocks whose embedded data doesn't match the parent state are rejected.

Mainnet schedules neither fork. On mainnet, 2.10.9 is a client update with no activation.

Also in this release: upstream BSC v1.7.4 → v1.7.8, and a fix that stops nodes rejecting valid blocks when the Dragon8 supply lookup can't resolve by block number (COR-184). Full details: #135.
