- LOOM-8 now works on the newer FM-1s. Units sold since autumn 2026, mostly on AliExpress, have a different flash chip (UC25HQ80). Until this release, LOOM-8 couldn't save projects on them, back them up or install another firmware. Now it can, and the rescue script takes them too. Thanks to Laurens (@profikid) for the fix (fm1-base#35).
- M-VAVE's updater, M-UPGRADE 3.11 (2026-11-03), didn't find an FM-1 running LOOM-8. It said "A USB MIDI device is present but did not answer". This version answers it, so M-UPGRADE can put M-VAVE's firmware back. Older versions of LOOM-8 still aren't found: for those, use "Back to the stock firmware" on the install page.
- Screen mirroring is in every build now. Open the mirror page on the site to see the FM-1's screen and lights on your computer, dim lights and PLAY's green glow included. Backup and restore work alongside it.
- Installing is much quicker from now on. Once LOOM-8 0.13 is on the FM-1, the next install writes only the parts that changed, and if the cable comes out halfway it carries on at the next power-on.
- The install page takes M-VAVE's stock firmware V16 as well as V15.
- The emulator plays in tune and in time on computers whose audio runs at 48 kHz. Before, it played a little high and fast there.
Each release now also carries an .rfm1 for host apps (RemoteFM1) and firmware.json for firmware hubs.
