Important notices

• ⚠️ Deprecation notice: from v0.25.0, linux/armv7 architecture support is considered to be dropped.

  If you are still using linux/armv7 architecture, it is possible to build the binary using the available instructions. Further application support depends on whether the underlying driver libraries keep supporting linux/armv7 architecture.

• ⚠️ Deprecation notice: from v0.25.0, jackc/pgx/v5/stdlib driver is considered to be removed from the default bundle.

  In the past, lib/pq driver experienced some issues with maintenance and performance, so jackc/pgx/v5/stdlib was added to the default driver bundle as a backup replacement. It seems that lib/pq driver is healthy and actively maintained again, so we will remove jackc/pgx/v5/stdlib from the default bundle as redundant. If you still need it or like it more, you may add the driver back, and produce your own build using the available instructions.

• ⚠️ Deprecation notice: from v0.25.0, fully-commercial drivers (i.e. drivers for no self-hosted options available) are considered to be removed from the default driver bundle.

  This primarily targets solutions like 'Snowflake' and 'Vertica', potentially 'OracleDB'. If you have any concerns or questions regarding this, please reach out and we will discuss the best way to support your use case. Since we do not collect any usage data in any form, we are not aware of how many users are using these drivers. We may consider providing a separate extended build with such drivers included, if there is enough demand for it.

The ultimate goal is to keep the default bundle as small and maintainable (also secure) as possible, while still providing a common set of drivers for the majority of users.

The premise remains the same: if you need a driver that is not included in the bundle, you can always build your own version with the required drivers included. On our end we will make sure that the build instructions are clear and easy to follow, so that users can produce build optimized for their needs easily.
