Lets show Microsoft their AI overhead is too much.
Goal: in 30 days, more Winslop downloads than Copilot has users 😆
Because honestly, nobody cares about Copilot. And I genuinely dont get why you'd ruin a nice OS like this, instead of listening to users and the people who made Microsoft successful in the first place, devs.
Mr. Nadella, you were right, I did need AI. This artwork was generated by AI. Plot twist: I used the competition. Copilot tried. Copilot was invited. Copilot was… uninstalled
Changelog
- First full release featuring all core functionality ported from the old C codebase, now 100% migrated to C#
- The app keeps its Windows 95 look & feel, now polished with better fonts, spacing, tooltips, margins and padding. Under the hood, Winslop shares some core ideas with CrapFixer, but the foundation is leaner, faster, and more powerful
- New Export/Import feature to save and restore your TreeList selections.
Tip
If you place the exported file winslop-selection.sel in the same folder as Winslop.exe, the app will detect it and automatically offer an import.
- Improved plugin management. Plugin migration from CrapFixer into the Winslop repo isnt done yet, both apps share the same plugin engine anyway, so it's mostly irrelevant which repo hosts them
- New About dialog
- A first mini help / quick start guide is now available: Help.md
Tip
Log Inspector: Use Actions → Log Inspector to review logs in a structured, readable view.
- Removed footer hotkeys since the main actions are reachable in one or two clicks anyway.
- Lots of small tweaks, optimizations, and polish across the app.
