github browning-gentry/TSArmsRace v1.6.0
v1.6.0 — Deck Viewer, Shuttle Diplomacy, Timer Nav & Hide Camera

Four new mods since v1.5.0, plus the usual lineup. Available for Windows and macOS.

New in this release

  • Deck Viewer — Adds an "In Deck" tab to the bottom card panel showing every card still unseen — what could still come up — sorted the same way the Discard and Removed tabs sort. After a reshuffle, the cards that just returned to play are grouped behind a labeled RESHUFFLE divider, and that state is remembered per game across relaunches.
  • Shuttle Diplomacy — While the Shuttle Diplomacy card is in effect, adds a second "final scoring" influence bar to the Asia and Middle East region summaries, so you can see how those regions would score under the card's final-scoring rules at a glance.
  • Timer Nav — When creating an online game, right-click the time-control selector to step backward through the options (left-click still cycles forward), so you don't have to loop all the way around the dial.
  • Hide Camera — Removes the camera-preset (zoom/region) button columns from the bottom corners of the map, then tidies the reclaimed space: the card tabs slide flush against the left edge, the Game Log footer stretches to full width, and the chat input fills the gap the camera column left behind.

Also included

Extended Timers · Game Log Writer · Full Map View · Lobby Filter · Animation Speed · Friend Sort

Every mod can be toggled in BepInEx/plugins/mods.cfg.

Install (Windows)

  1. Download TSArmsRace-windows.zip below.
  2. In Steam, right-click Twilight StruggleManageBrowse Local Files, and extract the zip contents into that folder. You should see winhttp.dll, doorstop_config.ini, BepInEx/, and dotnet/ next to TwilightStruggle.exe.
  3. Launch from Steam normally — no launch options needed on Windows.
  4. The first launch takes 1–2 minutes to generate support files (the game may look frozen — don't close it). You may need to launch twice — the first run generates support files, the second activates the mods.
  5. Optional: if a console window opens alongside the game, edit BepInEx\config\BepInEx.cfg and set Enabled = false under [Logging.Console].

Install (macOS)

  1. Download TSArmsRace-macos.zip below.
  2. In Steam, right-click Twilight StruggleManageBrowse Local Files, and extract the zip contents into that folder. You should see libu6inject.dylib, run_bepinex_u6.sh, BepInEx/, and dotnet/ next to TwilightStruggle.app.
  3. Right-click Twilight Struggle in Steam → PropertiesLaunch Options and set:
    "/Users/YOUR_USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Twilight Struggle/run_bepinex_u6.sh" %command%

Replace YOUR_USERNAME with your macOS username.
  4. Launch from Steam. The first launch takes 1–2 minutes to generate support files (the game may look frozen — don't close it). You may need to launch twice — the first run generates support files, the second activates the mods.

Full setup and per-mod details are in the README.

Updating from an earlier release

  1. Extract the new zip and copy its contents into the game folder, overwriting existing files when prompted. Your saved games are untouched.
  2. mods.cfg: this zip ships a fresh copy that includes entries for the new mods. If you've customized yours (blocked players, animation speed, etc.), either keep your existing file — the new mods still default to on — or back up your tweaks and let the new file replace it to pick up the new options and comments.
  3. If anything misbehaves after updating, delete BepInEx/cache/ and BepInEx/interop/ to force regeneration on the next launch (again, may take two launches).
