Conky v1.25.4

Conky v1.25.4 adds alpha-based X11 input shaping (own_window_input_from_alpha) for click-through on transparent pixels, and fixes Xft text colors with pseudo-transparency, ${freq}/${freq_g} recovery after transient read errors, and ${no_update} crashes and state leaks.

Full Changelog: v1.25.3...v1.25.4

Highlights Since v1.25.3

X11 Display & Input

  • Alpha-based input shaping: Added own_window_input_from_alpha to let mouse clicks pass through transparent pixels while keeping opaque content interactive, with safe fallbacks when ARGB visuals, double buffering, or X11 SHAPE 1.1+ are unavailable and Xvfb-backed integration tests in CI (#2489, superseding #2487; original commits by @trappedinspacetime).
  • Xft text colors with pseudo-transparency: Fixed Xft text rendering black on 24-bit RGB drawables when background opacity is below 255 by selecting the pixel format from the drawable's color depth (#2492, refs #2491).

Text Evaluation & Specials

  • ${no_update} isolation and crash fix: Fixed a startup crash when ${no_update} contains unsupported specials and isolated cached evaluation so specials parsed via ${eval} or ${execp} no longer leak colors, fonts, or graph state into subsequent output (#2484, continuing #2483; original commit by Bernd Feige).

System Monitoring

  • CPU frequency recovery: ${freq} and ${freq_g} now retry on every update instead of permanently latching failure after a transient sysfs or /proc/cpuinfo read error (#2493, discussion #2490).
