- Step heartbeats and recorded user-wait windows (approvals,
ask_user_question) of two minutes or more are carved out of each step's active time into a separate idle figure. - Quiet stretches before the model response and quiet running tools stay active, so a sent request or a running tool never reads as idle.
- The Timing card center, ring shares and overhead slot read wall time minus idle; the insights KPI, the aggregated timing card and the agent network's self duration adopt the same figure.
- The packed strip shows active time only; projection state version 36 refolds every session from its log.

Fixes
- The fleet tab keeps the Agent Comms card and stretches the task board — a solo session no longer hides the Agent Comms card; it renders whenever the forest does and settles on its empty state when no inter-agent traffic exists. The boards column stacks with flex, so the task card fills the remaining height and the agent network matches the members card plus the task card at every width that keeps both columns on one line.
- The command panel KPI order reads more clearly — the headline tiles are reordered for a clearer top-to-bottom reading.
