v1.8.2 schedules the BSC Mainnet Jenner hardfork for 2026-12-08 02:30:00 UTC (1796697000). All mainnet node operators must upgrade before activation.

Key Changes (Hard Fork Required)

• BEP-702: Compliant Asset Standard: adds CAS20 stateful precompiles. Token creation requires separate activation by a governance-appointed administrator.
• BEP-703: Payment Lane: reserves 5% of block gas by default for eligible BNB transfers and transactions to listed payment contracts. The ratio and contract list can be changed through governance.
• BEP-706: Millisecond Timestamp: exposes millisecond block time through precompile 0x70; block.timestamp remains in seconds.

BEP-675 MEV Enhancements (No Hard Fork Required)

This release also includes the MEV enhancements introduced in v1.8.1:

• Faster BidBlock transport: gRPC with RLP-encoded binary payloads reduces JSON parsing and hex-conversion overhead. JSON-RPC remains supported. See the gRPC integration guide.
• Stronger validation and builder revocation: rejects zero-state-root BidBlocks, revokes local SendBidBlock access on cross-validator bad-block evidence, and persists revocations across restarts.
• Better observability: adds bad BidBlock and builder revocation metrics.
